Ehh... sounds too gimmicky. The whole reason why a Lightsaber is as big as it is, is to house all the components necessary to create and control the plasma blade. The smallest form in established canon (not counting video game gimmicks) is the Shoto, which is what Yoda wields.

Making something as tiny as a shuriken, that can still produce a little tiny Lightsaber edge to it, is completely infeasible. You could easily get away with using Move to throw daggers or something. Or to throw a Shoto. All that is already in the rules and doesn't need any special exceptions. Your only hindrance is going to be miniaturizing down that small, to make the "energy weapon" aspect of it. I just don't see it happening, given the rest of Star Wars' level of technology.

A wrist blaster that shoots miniaturised energy spikes from a small central "ball" so it resembles a throwing star perhaps?

The blades only emerge after its thrown I imagine if that was the case a force user could telekinetically "catch" it and throw it straight back....

Nothing I saw in the Wookiepedia entry said they were mini-lightsabers on the edges...

So basically they're just thrown weapons wroth blaster bolts wrapped around them. I would just copy the stats of a holdout blaster but give them a different fluff. Knock off the Stun Setting, maybe make the damage "+", and call it a day.

The image shows several of them flying through the air, looking exactly like small versions of the dual sabers she's wielding.

And other sources have described the Lightsaber blade as a "frozen blaster bolt", which is just what you're describing.

You could simply handwave them, saying that they work through the Power of Plot. But from a technical game perspective, you'd need a Khyber crystal to manifest and harness the "frozen blaster bolt" edges, which makes them each a tiny flying Lightsaber. And given how rare and valuable those crystals can be, I doubt anyone would want to make a dozen of them and throw them around the battlefield hoping they aren't damaged or destroyed.

Like I said before, it's a cute video game gimmick. But in SWRPG, it's nonsense.

So something along the lines of the energy envelope that surrounds a bowcaster's projectiles?

To me it looks like you just take the throwing knives from FC and drop the crit rating to 3 to bring it in line with "energy weapons" and increase the cost and rarity a smidge.
