for the record the ARC was in episode 3 at the beginning. Anni and Obi werent flying one but they were flying with a few of them. I think the first ship to explode was one lol
Wave 9 is this genuine?

Indeed, they did their job so that Obi Wan and Anakin could do theirs. I foresee ARC-170s being used in such a manner in game, just so people can use that quote.
I am not very fond of Wave 9. I like the TIE/SF, that's really cool. I like the Protector interceptor, sounds cool as well and opens very popular option of playing Mandalorians in X-Wing. But the other two? I understand the Shadow Caster. If it wouldn't have the moving arc, I would kind of like it. The ship is... quite nice and it has been in the Rebels which is our era. I really, really really don't like the ARC. I never liked the look of it and I don't really like the idea of "title" to shoot better. And it feels wierd to me to have T-70 and T-65 in the same squadron, how would I feel with ARC added to them! ;-)
well, if time paradoxes don't gel with you, don't fly em
though technically, the ARC-170s we're getting are flown by Galatic Civil War era pilots, so you can have them with T-65s no problem
it's literally like having Ys with the Xs, both the Y and the ARC are archaic by that point but they see use anyway because, hey, the rebellion isn't made of UNLIMITED POWAH and Deathstars
I can't be the only one looking forward to running an Old Bangers list of ARCs, Y-Wings and Z95s!

I heard it was in clone wars cartoon.
It was also in Star Wars Galaxies. There has been at least 1 ship from SWG in every wave so far. I hope that trend continues until it's roster is complete.
Obviously I was referring to shows/comics that take place in the time period of this game.
Wrecked ARC-170s have been depicted in the background of no less than 3 Star Wars: Rebels episodes.
Not that we've seen any rebels flying them yet, but there are apparently lots of them laying around and the idea of fixing one of them up to fly again makes sense.

I wouldn't call the ARCs old bangers
given who's flying them, it might send the wrong message

No. I really like weathered old ships. And they make great painting bases. Z95s are great, and the ARC will neatly fit their as well.
And finally something fitting to the description: a really f***ed up, ancient, weathered rustbucket. If the models look like that when they go on sale
Would be complete with old battle damage and some of the plates with newer look, later-cheap-welded-on-armour-plate fixes. I definitely will get one of the ARCs, if only to paint up.

Awesome, do you know which episodes off hand ?
Yes I agree it makes total sense and is the exact argument I have used with others. I pre-ordered 3 already at the FLGS.

and therein lies the biggest problem with the ARC
going down the +2 PS for +2 points, the PS 4 is hitting 26 and the PS 3 25
which means only 3 @ 100 points
That's a point - why does the paint look so weathered on them when they've apparently been repainted in Rebel colours?

You wouldn't want to take them naked anyway would you?
Why the big issue, we still use helicopters and some planes from vietnam alongside modern stuff today
You wouldn't want to take them naked anyway would you?
depends on how partial you are to "old bangers"
but yeah, generally not. We're talking four unique pilots and a ship defined by a unique crew + astromech combination. These guys won't be efficient filler at all, but definitely weird special forces with quirky capabilities to work with
which is ironic because the Tie Special Forces looks like it could be released as a fairly efficient jouster
I too am worried about the ARC
it's so **** sexy it makes every other ship look like a stale white bread in comparison
After release, you can line it up with a Kwing or two and span one side of the board to other wingtip to wingtip

you can actually win epic games by just running 4 ARCs and 4 Ks and giving your opponent nowhere to deploy between all dat wingspan
Stop talking about ARCs and K-Wings together!!!! :'(

Not sure I can do that. It's just so majestic
What a prequel ship?
AHHHHHH REPENT THE END IS NEAR RUN AWAY RUN AWAY THE GREAT DESTROYER HAS ARRIVE!
It's coming, the inevitable
THE JAR JAR BINKS CREW CARD!
It will make C-3PO look like a hard to use strategy card.

Load him up on Whisper with Palp support and go to town.

The Episodes are listed on the Canon section of the Wookieepedia page for the ARC-170 under "appearances". I personally remember seeing it as quite prominent wreckage in the first of those episodes. The episodes are "Out of Darkness", "Gathering Forces" and "Wings of the Master". I believe the wreckage in both Out of Darkness and Gathering Forces is the same wreckage on the same planet.
I wasn't really fond of the K-Wing and Punisher. The looks just didn't do it for me.
But for some reason I like the ARC fighter and the Special Forces TIE. They just look fun to me.
