Just got the VCX and Tie Advanced Protype. (Yea!!) inside each are card board tokens with a sihloutte of that ship. I think these are supposed to go on the maneuver dial... But how?

Yes. Ships in Wave 8 and beyond will come with silhouette tokens for the dial upgrades. If you buy the dial upgrades themselves, they'll come with tokens for ships Wave 1-7.
