Death of the Earth wing?

By Stelar 7, in X-Wing

Ewings cost a lot more than t70 xwings. So do people still use the E, or are they dead?

E wings are in need of a buff in the same way as the Tie Phantom.

The top ships are awesomesauce and the generics are not.

But any fix of the generic will potentially supercharge the Whispers and Horns of repute.

Then the Internet will explode in tears of nerd rage, and the incessant whining from t-65 lovers will cause the universe to implode.

Just back away slowly from the subject.

To be honest I am not sure if thats what constitutes a ship in need. Looking at ships that get play as far as I am aware only the JM5K has both generics and characters being usefull. Most other ships just lean towards one extreme.

Side note: that cannon over the canopy is stupid. The canopy won't open with it like that. Just plain goofy.

Opening the cockpit is the least of your issues compared to the flash blindness every time it fires, lol.

Phantom doesn't need any help - including the generics. Yes the generics are squishy, but they also hit hard and are fairly priced at 25/27 points.

I would say generic phantoms are top tier but they're WAY down on the list of ships I'd say need help

Their play style is weird due to non ACd cloak mechanics (int agent works wonders here and stygium is boss) but their capabilities for shenanigans and damage output is legit

Unfortunately I've seen more success with the T-70. So far the percentage of winning is 66.66%

T-65 and E are

er

Well there's no easy way of saying this: 0% success

You know where the door is.

I hate to say it, but I think that you'll have to wait until HOTR hits the shelves.

No doubt. I am so stoked to fly Jess Pava! Can't wait!

I have tried Blue Ace, and I agree that he really wants a way to get a second action. Lando Calrissian and Airen Cracken are too restrictive with their Range 1 limitation. Squad Leader has better range, but somebody else is then giving up their action. Honestly, I think the best thing we currently have to help Blue Ace is Kyle Katarn. Garven could work, but Kyle gives the focus at the start of combat which is nice. But the HWK is defensively similar to T-70s in Agility and health, so maybe Lando is a better pilot after all. In fact, Lando with VI could let Blue Ace boost after the up-and-coming PS 8 aces...

EDIT: Woops! Sorry to get off topic. I flew Etahn last night in a mini-epic game (200 points per side), and he turned a hit-crit into a crit-crit, dealing two Direct Hits to Latts Razzi, finishing her off. Not bad!

Now and forever, **** Corran Horn.

Seriously. I feel about Corran the way ParaGoomba Slayer feels about... well, about half the things added to the game since Wave 2.

Why Corran specifically? Was it the PS 8 or the double tap?

The pure cowardice that is his play style (at least for me). His double tap allows him to run away without losing any damage. And then he also gets to regen shields while clearing his PTL stress. Its just too infuriating.

I don't think he's overpowered or anything (I mean, I habitually run Soontir or the Inquisitor, I've got no business getting annoyed with anything for tanking offence), he just annoys the **** out of me.

I just clicked because I wanted to know what "Earthwing" is..

http://www.earthwingboards.com

Earthwing is actually an American skateboarding brand established in 1998 in the dirty streets of Brooklyn, NY. They specialize in making decks that are practical in form and construction in order to handle the harsh conditions of city-life skateboarding. By using crush-weld or thermolam processes to strengthen a deck's structure while using less plies, they make lightweight, durable and agile decks for commuting, racing, cruising and park skating. Over recent years, Earthwing has ventured into making Downhill skateboarding decks out of solid maple while utilizing the popular W-concave, which is mildly pressed into the boards to provide stiffness at high speeds as well as platform traction for riders to use as a reference point for foot placement or as a means for more grip.

I skated the Earthwing Supermodel for 4 years before I retired mine and hung it up on my wall. I've also ridden their Supercharger (discontinued) as my lightweight sprinting deck. I was also an owner of several Earthwing Drifters, but I was never able to proficiently tech slide or skate in skateparks. Great company, great products.

However, I still haven't found a good Triple T-70 squad. I feel bad saying this, but they're still too squishy (for my play style, I suppose).

XX-Hwk is my regular squad but I like Poe as an all-round Ace and the tankiness of Red Ace. 70-70-65 with Biggs is the other option. The generic T70s are OK but the named pilots fun abilities. I am interested to see what HOTR brings us.

I've atully tried a few games of Relay Juke Regen Veterans, supported by an almost naked Miranda with Jan Ors.

Miranda is as durable as she ever was- more so, when she can give herself an evade on turns that the Xwings arnt being shot at. her primary turret is plenty to manage shield regen, and if she's being ignored (in favor of alpha vs Relay R2D2, say) she can pump her offence.

The T70s, meanwhile, are sitting on 2 greens, focus evade, 3 shields, 3 hull, R2D2/R5P9, and Integrated astromech. a single evade on 4 dice (with focus) is enough to survive double torpedo scout, with a fresh evade token next round, and a second evade result will keep the shield regen coming too.

Well, I use Horn every time I run a rebel squad with X's and mix those up from everyone from Wedge to Portkins and he's never let me down, ever. Even running him with two other E's; they're always tough and hit hard enough. He is kinda board-scary to the other side of the table kinda like Soontir or the Inquisitor I guess; that might be part of his power

Thanks all.as I have been gone awhile, and google is failing me, what it HOTR. The acrynom looks like heroes of the republic. Is that a thing?

Edit, tried harder for Yoda. Heroes of the resistance, looks like I will be getting another falcon.

Heroes of the Resistance - it's a Force Awakens box with a (new) Falcon - piloted by Rey - and Poe's Black One T-70 X-wing.

Etahn Abaht is a Monster in Epic

He's goddamn terrifying is what he is. In epic games, Corran Horn suffers from not being Etahn, not the other way around.

I find it odd how every one says E wings are over costed, While i'm relatively new to the game, If you look at the E-wing next to the Defender, its has to me a marginally better dial, target lock, and can take astromechs (To me the best type of upgrade) and you only really sacrifice 1 hull and the cannon.

But entry level the E-wing is 3 points less... And while you have less E-wing pilots Corran seems to edge out over Rexlar for me.. and is still cheaper...

They are similar levels of ship, I know they don't play exactly the same but it seems like a pretty good deal to my naive eyes.

And then you see that BOTH are overcosted greatly

and then you see Imperial Veterans with titles that greatly buff Defender

and E-wing is still overcosted useless junk outside Epic (Abaht) or Korran kHorne in a single-minded doubletap build

Corran Horn is my pilot. Never leave home without him.

Yeah,I'm that guy in the gaming group.

Except you actually saw defenders in casual play and in some tournaments.

Not entirely sure how much success he's been having with it as I've recently moved to another city but a friend of mine has been playing with 3x Blackmoon's with sensor jammer.
