Trident and Carve a Path skill

By nymmerod, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

We are having serious trouble sussing out how these two cards interact.

Here is an example scenario:

The skirmisher uses "carve a path" and applies +1 to speed bring it to 5. The skirmisher moves 5 spaces, during which he moved through 2 enemy figures. Then he performs his attack against a third enemy figure which is now adjacent to him. Due to "carve a path" the attack affects the target and also the 2 enemies he moved through. He makes the attack roll and gains two surge icons. He spends one surge to apply +2 damage. He spends the other surge to trigger "Gain 2 Movement Points"...

The rule book states: "Each surge ability may only be triggered once per attack."

Which would the proper outcome be:

( A ) Our skirmisher deals 2 additional hearts to each monster and gains 2MP for each monster (bringing the total of gained MP to 6)

( B ) Our skirmisher deals 2 additional hearts to each monster and gains 2MP total.

( C ) Our skirmisher deals 2 additional hearts to one monster and gains 2MP total.

If a condition were applied using a single surge, it would affect all three monsters. Does the same cause stacking to apply to other effects like additional damage results, gaining movement points, recovering hearts, or teleporting?

In a similar manner, would the Mace of Kellos allow our skirmisher to recover only 1 heart or 3 hearts if it were used during the above "carve a path" action? What if he used Teleportation Rune instead? Would he be able to teleport only once or 3 times?

B)

The surges can be applied only one time. The +2 damage is part of the attack pool, and affects every monster.

B, as kraisto said.

The skirmisher uses "carve a path" and applies +1 to speed bring it to 5.

Just wanted to mention that the Skirmisher receives +1 speed as soon as he buys the card. He doesn't have to exhaust it to get that bonus (if I remember correctly).
