Work for what? He is a decent ace hunter but uboats will melt him fast. And no repositioning options kind of limits the benefits of PS8/9.

I don't like the offensive prospects of an X-Wing that can't modify. That's 30 points of "Will never put damage on anything 2 agility or better". It worked on a TLT Y-Wing because it got 2 3-dice attacks where only one hit needs to go through, and only 1 agility so actions didnt mean anything anyways, AND it can double stress, which this cannot.

Defensively? Maybe. Still just as durable as he was before. Doesnt mean it'll matter in this meta. One focus to an evade isn't going to do anything to 4 plasma torp hits.

That and it's still just an X-Wing, which means 6 health, and no repositioning options. That, and stressbot as anti-ace tech is pretty dead.

I know you want the X-Wing to work. We all do.

But it's time to let it go. Give up on it. It isn't going to happen.

R3-A2's ability does not interfere with Luke's ability but it does not synergise with it particularly well either. Luke struggles in comparison to Poe who is just 3 points more, gets an offensive boost as well as defensive one and benefits from the improved T70 platform.

R3-A2 works better with the Y-wing + title as double stress is much more effective at preventing actions next round or on someone like Wes who can also remove enemy tokens, thus adding insult to injury.

Throw Wired on if you do to help offensively. Still not optimal, though.

well it worked...back in wave 5 when you HAD to land stress on Whisper before Advanced Cloaking or else you just lost

seriously won a store tournie with VI r3-a2 and EU Luke with a prototype refit and two tactician B-wings, back when aggressors had just come out

If you want to use the R3 droid, look at Hobbie Klivian. He can shed some of the stress you're going to accumulate.

Generally, if I'm slapping R3-A2 on an X it'll be Hobbie so he can immediately clear it or Wes so I can get 2 debuffs for the price of one.

Lone Wolf works great on Luke (depending on the rest of your list and whether you can keep him alone) and would work with your build.

Luke is pretty robust for an X-wing. He can't use his ability on offense as Poe can, but it's stress-proof.
