Attacking Multiple Targets???

By fist, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

Forum search and the Index section of FaD have not shown any examples on how a player can attack multiple targets in the same round. Is it simply a case of it can't be done in this system, or am I totally missing the wording of it?

It seems like a simple enough thing for the storyteller to add if it isn't in the rules already. Split your combat check pool, or increase the difficulty, or a combination of the two.

Any suggestions on where I can find the rules (if they do exist) or what you and your group does to deal with attacking multiple targets.

Thanks

Fist

Multiple things:

First, minions count as one target but are multiple characters when using the minion group rules. So, although you are attacking one target on paper, in the narrative you are firing at multiple.

The Auto-fire item quality (described in the gear and equipment chapter) can hit multiple targets, although I don't think any F&D book has a personal scale Auto-fire weapon; they can be found in EotE/AoR. Likewise, Blast will hit multiple targets.

Shii-Cho Knight has the Sarlacc Sweep talent which allows for hitting multiple targets with Lightsaber attacks. The Gunslinger specialization (found in the Smuggler career book, Fly Casual) allows for hitting multiple targets when attacking with two weapons (which normally can only be used to hit a single target).

^^ He beat me to it.

Gunslinger, as mentioned can use the talent spitfire while dual wielding to attack a second target, assuming you trigger the second shot. This can be any target (so target a minion and use the second shot to hit the dodging, adversary 3 Nemesis.

Autofire, you have to specify that the target you are going to aim for is the most difficult to hit (example above allows you to target the dodging, adversary 3 Nemesis. Then you can trigger auto fire to hit the minion standibg nearby,

So the Gunslinger has the easier time as they can target the easiest to hit then movr onto the hardest at no extra cost (note that in both cases they have upgraded checks)

awesome! thanks so much for the quick and on point response.

Also some applications of Advantage and Triumphs can affect other Opponents besides the intended target (this is allowed because of the narrative nature of the system). However unless you use the rules listed above, plus some Force powers, you can only Damage a single target with an individual Attack roll. As also mentioned Minion Groups and Squads are considered a single target.
