With the advent of Flotilla's and the possibility of more squadrons than ever on the table, is the Raider, escorted with a couple of squadrons each, going to make a good hunter/killer set up?
Flotilla's and Raiders
Raiders need accuracy to lock down the scatter. Other than that it would be better than wasting a Gladiator broadside or ISD front arc on a flotilla unless you REALLY wanted it dead.
Glad with ET. Shoot something else, double bump, flotilla bumps on next activation. PROFIT!
been saying this for months

Seems like a waste. You are losing a full turn of positioning to kill a 30 point target. This leaves you vulnerable that whole turn and maybe out of position for the rest of the game.
I don't know ow about anyone else but that sounds like a great trade to me
I have only used Raiders a few times, as I am rebel scum, but to me it seems like Raiders are really best at area denial, reactionary ships. Raiders like stuff coming up to them in black range (well, except maybe Demolisher) so the Raider can then follow up with a strike and zoom away. This could just be me, but I've had more success with stuff coming at my raiders, than my raiders coming at stuff.
Raiders (Is or IIs) and CR90Bs should be the easy solution. Crash land into a flotilla for one point of damage and then Concentrate Fire next turn(with Raiders, add blue if Accuracy didn't show up in your initial roll, otherwise add black) to hopefully take it out in the next. You can also look into Gunnery Teams+blue dice heavier ships but personally I like having my escort ships/corvettes do their job by clearing away chaff the heavier ships don't want to bother with.

Built a whole fleet around using other ships to funnel my opponent into my Raiders. It worked pretty well until people figured out the trap.
Raider 2 is pretty reliable to get accuracy.
Just watch out for the squadrons the flotilla had with it, they can burn the raider down pretty quick
well if you use your first arc shot to make it use its scatter your 2nd to kill it or burn its scatter and then use you wing mate to kill it or use fighters. I always fly my small ships in flights of 2.
I have found they work a lot better that way. the first one uses the targets defense and the 2nd one does the damage. Some times the 2nd ship is a BIG one.

Yep I think your onto something, why shoot, just ram...... CR90s with LTRC and engine tec would love this, run around ramming flotillas and popping off long range red shots.....

So in your head, are the flotillas at long range from their own ships?
