Swarming to Victory at Yavin - Report by Andrew Pattison

Congratulations on the win. I read your article and the podcast episode you did and found it highly informative.

Thanks dude, glad you enjoyed them!

Incredible effort sir and I salute your patience and practice for clearly perfecting the art of swarming. Very inspirational reading material for someone like me who hasn't even tried a swarm. Could be time.

Very kind words, thank you. Give it a try its a great list and is so much fun to fly. If you need any tips, feel free to ask :)

Good work sir and nice write up! Any tweaks planned for the list moving forward? And will vets tempt you away from your infamous swarms? :)

thanks. currently, i don't feel the need to tweak, and its actually really hard to do so since the only changeable points are from the crack shots.

Defenders have always been my other go-to option when list building, so you may well see me flying some fairly horrible lists containing the new titles soon. I think they are going to be superb.

Congrats for the win and thanks for the write up! It's always nice to hear great players insights

I do have a question thought: how could Vader use Juke on your evade token? Isn't the attacker the one modyfing the green dice first?

well holy.... you are right. oh man i'd have been angry if i'd lost that game! there were about 10 people watching the game and none of us noticed!

EDIT: i'd just like to point out i dont think it was his intent to cheat me AT ALL. it was a genuine error from all parties

Yeah, I was sure that it was either me misunderstand something in english or a mistake due tiredness, I know how exhausting can be playing in a SoS for 2 days.

I like how the System Open circuit is building up an european international community: we both had to face Scott Reed (well, I faced him twice) in two different Opens.

Congratulation again for your win: you are the champion of the biggest xwing tournament so far, and you managed that flying 7 ships!

I'm happy to not be the first to mention the Juke thing, but that jumped at me too! I didn't see ill intent in it the way the game was described, just a heated game and a small mistake, but which lead to a big difference.

Congrats on the win, we managed to catch the tail end of the last game live and this serves as a reminder that I wanted to see the whole thing.

@Sunitsa, i agree, the Open series has been so amazingly international, and universally friendly. long may it continue.

@drjkel, thanks. as i said, it wasn't the most exciting game in some ways, but there are lessons in there for both sides, for sure.

i feel so unbelievably lucky to have won that semi now. if i'd lost and then realised afterwards i'd have felt horrible!

Andrew, still remember our match? I am glad I lost to the eventual winner. Congrats!!

(I was the one with Whisper, OL and Yorr in round 4 or 5)

Absolutely! That was a great game and I'm sorry I couldn't fit it in. Your kturn with whisper remains one of the best moves I saw that entire weekend.

Great report! It was truly well written.

thanks Embir, very kind of you to say. i cant take all the credit, as the 186th have a great editing team :)
