Countess, Inquisitor, and Palp

By Tbetts94, in X-Wing Squad Lists

(100)

Countess Ryad (36) - TIE Defender

Push The Limit (3), TIE/x7 (-2), Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)

Omicron Group Pilot (33) - Lambda-Class Shuttle

Sensor Jammer (4), Emperor Palpatine (8), Emperor Palpatine (8)

The Inquisitor (31) - TIE Adv. Prototype

Push The Limit (3), TIE/v1 (1), Autothrusters (2)

I've played various forms of this build, what I notice is I really like the sensor jammer on the shuttle. I didn't keep track but it probably saved like 5 hit points at least from it in each game. I was debating on Inquisitor or Omega Leader, but I feel the Inquisitor is better early game and can stand on its own in the end game. The Countess so far has been great, but I haven't faced PS9 Imperial Aces yet with her and afraid of Countess Pilot skill.

What do you guys think?

I really like this build. I'm looking forward to playing the new and improved Defenders and I will try this squad for sure once I finally get the Imperial Veterans expansion. Here's another idea:

Inquisitor (Push the Limit, v1 title, Autothrusters, Proton Rockets)

Vessery (Veteran Instincts, TIE/D title, Tractor Beam)

Omega Leader (Juke, Comm Relay, Stealth Device)

100 points

I'm really liking the look of this list. Changing out Vessery for the Countess means your Aces can stand on their own in the endgame (which is Vessery's biggest weakness). The PS challenge with the Countess can be tough but they will eventually need to disengage to get a better position. The Countess doesn't have to worry about that. Stay tokened up and wait for that "adjust" round and go for the throat. It's definitely a battle of attrition, though.

I'd love to throw Juke on Ryad and Inquisitor in an aces list. Just one of the many Defender lists I'll be trying out over the next several weeks.
