I will admit it's only 95 F / 35 C today. It can worse. Oh, and it's very humid, too. They always say that it's not the heat, it's the humidity. Well, here it is freakin' both!

We're having a nice cool day here in the deep piney woods of east Texas. Only 93 at the moment and the humidity is a dry 53% resulting in a 'feels like' of only 104.
A few days ago the humidity was in the 90% range and it might only feel like 99 degrees, but it is miserable. I'll take it while we can get it though. It will soon dry up and the temperatures will head over 100 and we'll start counting how many days in a row it will stay that way. *knock on wood* So far this year has been relatively mild... temperature wise... maybe it will last and we'll keep getting rain for the lakes and the trees.
It's not too bad here in southern Arizona. I think they said it'll be about 117 in Tucson this weekend and 120 in Phoenix.
I'm just grateful it isn't humid!

And, why, yes, driving around with the top down on the car WAS delightful, thank you for asking..
Feels like 107 in Nashville, TN Oh to be back in England
It was overcast with intermittent rain here 20 degree Celsius, glorious really.

Kinda used to the heat now in VA. First couple of years after moving from England were rough. Now I rather like it.
Base temp was around 100, with a 70ish% humidity here in the great BBQ city of KC. To be clear, I felt like I was drowning in soup.
*Note: Author loves spring weather and will complain about anything that is not 65 F with a light breeze.
Lived in Asheville NC for a while> Considering the weather in the UK at the moment I would happily be back there :-)
Note: It always starts to rain and go cold this time of year in the North east of England. The Hoppings, largest travelling fun fair in Europe, are on and it is a well known fact that the weather always sucks when it's Hoppings week :-)
Typical British summer over here...I miss Portugal ![]()

Yeah.....parts of Texas are a lot worse than here. I lived in Austin and while the humidity was not as bad as some parts, it got hot. I do feel for you in East Texas. Hot and humid. Same for Houston.

I moved down here when I was 14 and I've never gotten used to it. I can't stand when it's over 75 degrees, to be honest. Also, I miss full season. Here, we get winter and summer. Between the two, they battle it out with one week hot and one week cold...until one wins. No real autumn to speak of.

Asheville? Way up in the mountains? I'd love to live there! So....much cooler...and not just the temperature!
Another TN resident here (Chattanooga) and it has been hot and dry. My yard is already brown, no matter how much I water it.

I'm moving from North Dakota to Tucson in August. That's right August. I might die. But I'm grateful there's no humidity there. It gets up in the 90s here with humidity so maybe the move won't be that big of a shock... hopefully.

For two years I basically spent the summer in Denver and winter in Phoenix (although, Christmas in Denver where it actually FEELS like Christmas). It was a pretty awesome way to live ![]()

Do you need help moving in or do you have it all figured out? If you'd like an extra hand to get stuff in-doors, PM me and let me know!

Can't help but pity people who live in America.

My family used to take camping vacations in Colorado almost every eyear. The weather really can't be beat.
Roasting at 84 here in Michigan. Looking forward to my ideal Fall with highs in the 50's and 60's.

As a relocated Brit I understand your jingoism and misplaced frustrations but I am very curious as to why you feel that way?
Having moved around a lot and lived in various places, I can't help but pity anyone who has never lived outside their home country and having seen a lot more of the world than where I grew up, I genuinely pity Brits who want to stay in the UK.

Yup, it's gorgeous here almost all year round. With 300 days of sunshine, we even get clear blue skies and bright sunshine after 8" of snow. I love it ![]()

Man, I wish it was a cool 84 degrees. Try adding at least 10 degrees to what you are experiencing and ensure the humidity is over 60%.
Wait six months and then lets compare
. MI can get pretty warm. Not backpacking to the bottom of the Grand Canyon or in New Mexico warm, but warm.

With cold, you can always put layers on. With hot, you can only take so much off...

Just because it's up in the mountains you so don't want to get impression it's cooler :-) the mornings and winter yeah... but August (for example) felt way hot to this English bloke, Afternoon thunderstorms are awesome. Asheville is def a cool place to live though. Never mind the Newcastle brown ale logos on the side of the trucks that made one feel at home :-)
Going back next year for a visit as the eclipse is happening south of there, near to Spartanburg. Wondering if I can combine it with trip to Gencon as it's in the August.
Nightmare was Detroit in winter back when I smoked.... heading out of the airport to have a ciggy when it's -15 deg C. or 5F in American :-) don't want to even think about it again!
