Howdy folks,

So with Imp Vets around the corner I was thinkin about running a Triple Defenders list. Being a meta hater (I'm running Manaroo/Guri/Palob woth attanni with good results at tournaments) I'm thinking about running one, but not having much exp with Defenders leaves me with no good ideas. As for right now the only one I came up with is

So guys, what ideas you have for triple Dees?

Maarek, Countess, Glaive all with x7 title and crackshot.

There's a ton of different ways to go about it.

The obvious triple generic lists are:

3 deltas w/ TIE/D + ion cannon

3 onyx w/ X-7 + hull upgrade

3 glaives w/ X-7 + crack shot

I can vouch that all of them are effective. I would say that the current meta, right at this very moment, makes the 3rd squad with glaives the most likely to get 'favourable' matchups.

Dropping out one generic for your preferred named Defender works too.

Some named builds that I can also say are very effective:

Ryad w/ PTL, X-7 + engine

Vessery w/ crack shot, TIE/D + tractor (or ion cannon)

Maarek/Brath w/ predator + TIE/D (hull upgrade optional but certainly nice to have if points are there)

I have had mixed results with a Delta carrying X-7 + engine. He's potentially a great little blocker, but at 32 points, sits at an odd point spot for me...

yes, you have to give up the pun but it's worth the added efficiency and defensive capabilities

also, the list is 98 points. bidding to block scouts? they sometimes go as low as 97, sadly

if you want to get your pun back, you can replace the Onyx with Flechette Tie/D Deltas

they're fun against large ships, they'll block scouts and they're three times the D (Delta tie/D Defender) that the Onyx ever was

I know this is a bit off-topic, but could one run clones?

you cannot have two or more unique cards (unique is signified by the DOT before the name) that share the same name in a squad

even if it's one Darth Vader pilot and one Darth Vader crew

even if it's one r2-d2 (astromech) and one r2-d2 (crew)

and yes, even the two mareeks are mutually exclusive

I have been playing with

Vessery - the hammer

Ryad - the dodger

Onyx - the blocker

All in x7, with various EPTs... in fact I keep forgetting to use them (even PTL) , and still have not lost a game.. i can also usually get away with painting a TL with Ryad or the Onyx for Vessery without much risk
