Kihraxz x4

By jonboyjon1990, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So obviously Black Sun Ace is 23 points and has Illicit, EPT and Missile slots.

I've been fiddling around with a few builds that run 4 of them. Has anyone had any success with them?

I suppose you've got the following as your main options:

Crackshot

Lightning Reflexes

Attanni Mindlink

XX-23 S-Thread Tracers

Glitterstim

Guidance Chips

Yesterday I tried out:

Black Sun Ace + Attanni Mindlink, XX-23 S-Thread Tracers, Guidance Chips x4

It was a fun little list, in the first engagement each ship (apart from the first) has 2 focus tokens, and if you pop a Tracer, they've all got Target Locks too.

The list can do some quirky things too, like being able to K-Turn with one ship and that ship still having a focus and/or target lock. Although note that you can only do that with 1 ship, as the K-turn will pass a stress to the rest of the list.

Ships can be stressed and not care, getting tokens from their friends, doing white turns.

I found that the lack of green turns on the dial and no green straights past speed 2 was problematic, but this was my first time ever flying the ship, so it may have just been me getting used to the ship itself.

5 K fighters one a tournament in brazil. its a lot of firepower. i have played around with it on squad benchmark and i liked it alot. keep flying it. BE AGGRESSIVE.

they Won the tournament............. not ONE the tournament smh

I love the generic Kihraxz pilots. I've ran 5x mauraders before wave 8. Use to run aces combination with Palob and Torkil.

Since wave 8, and mindlink, I've been playing with a similar idea as a back up list. I've also been deploying the same idea amount Tensarri point veterans.

I'm inclined to think that while it can work on a list of multiples, it doesn't necessarily create the most efficient list. It's certainly MORE efficient, but not most efficient. I'd say, running Palob and three black sun aces would create a very efficient list.

HWK-290: · Palob Godalhi (20)

Attanni Mindlink (1)

Twin Laser Turret (6)

Kihraxz Fighter: Black Sun Ace (23)

Attanni Mindlink (1)

Kihraxz Fighter: Black Sun Ace (23)

Palob is always going to Palob along and focus. Then kihraxz can all take target locks.

A Manaroo+ escort could also work well. You'd only have room to put attaini mindlink on Manaroo.

I feel like these types of lists do best with a ship this is supposed to focus, so that the Kihraxz can TL, or M3As evade.

Where exactly? I'd like to dig into that. (I'm from Brazil)

Attanni Mindlink is not something I'd recommend for a K-Squad, due to poor action pool and a need for K-Turns.

I'd either take my chances on a 5K, 3K/Guri or 2CrackBSA + large ship.

Sorry I lied. it was Sweden. his name is Bjorn Nilsson. I tried to find him to ask him about it. here is the tournament http://lists.starwarsclubhouse.com/get_tourney_details?tourney_id=1683

it was only 16 people, but he faced some pretty legit lists. He beat palp Aces, Stress Hog, Jumpmaster & Palob build. I think it was a bossk build that one in brazil.

Cool ideas. I really like the Kihraxz. I've played the following and it was lots of fun:

Cartel Marauder

Black Sun Ace (Crack Shot)

Graz the Hunter

Talonbane Cobra (Lightning Reflexes, Glitterstim)

100 points

So, one of each pilots. Not competitive but it did very well. That was a while ago though, and I have not looked into other builds with the ship recently. I'd like to try the 5 Marauders build for sure.

In the two games I played with the Mindlink, Tracers, Chips build - I found it to be quite tough giving up 25% of my shots to use the tracers. In the second game I didn't fire the missiles once.

I've toyed with 4x Black Sun Aces with Glitterstim. In the opening pass you have four ships with target lock + focus and hopefully shred some stuff at range-1 with 16 total dice.

Seeing as I have only a single Kihraxz, I haven't had a chance to try it yet.

I tried it no squad benchmark and it did WORK. that first pass just shreds stuff then i roll out into an all out dog fight splitting them up in pairs and letting the 5th go with whoever might be troublesome. When i get five of them, this will almost always be my fun list to fly!

2 Black Sun Aces with mindlink and 2 Gand Findsmen with Mindlink is very fun.

I flew the first BSA up to focus, then got a target lock with the other and evades with the Findsmen. I'm 5 and 0 with it for now; 1 casual game to try it out and a 4 game tournament.

How about something like this:

M3-A Interceptor: Tansarii Point Veteran (17)

Attanni Mindlink (1)

"Heavy Scyk" Interceptor (2)

Heavy Laser Cannon (7)

Kihraxz Fighter: Black Sun Ace (23)

Attanni Mindlink (1)

XX-23 S-Thread Tracers (1)

Guidance Chips (0)

Kihraxz Fighter: Black Sun Ace (23)

Attanni Mindlink (1)

Kihraxz Fighter: Black Sun Ace (23)

Attanni Mindlink (1)

You can have the TPV evade every turn and get focus through the link. Then plink things at range with a heavy plinker. BSAs get in the think of things and dogfight it up. One tracer just in case you're down to one ship or have one priority target and want to ensure everyone has mods for their shots on it.

EDIT: Oh, and they're all 5PS, so you can choose who fires first (probably best to HLC first to strip shields) and also gives you ability to choose move order.

I was at that tournament (I played the rebel stress list). Björn played his Kiraxes masterfully. He basically played the positioning game, covering a maximum of board space and made full use of their surprisingly good dial.

He explained his choice of list afterwards. It's an anti-meta killer, countering most counters to imperial aces.
