Ello the Rebel Phantom

By TravisJP420, in X-Wing Organized Play

Now I have played this basic build with Poe 2 different ways before sticking Ello in instead and let me tell you, it was outrageously fun. Note: I do not play competitively, for me it ruins the fun of the game so this is not a Regional list.

Build 1. Poe, Kyle, Jake.

Poe: Comm Relay, R5-P9, Juke

Kyle: Twin Laser Turret, Jan Ors, Moldy Crow

Jake: A-Wing Test Pilot, Cherdon Riff, Push The Limit, Outmaneuver

Build 2. Poe, Kyle, Jake

Poe: Weapons Guidance, R2-D2, Push The Limit, Auto-Thrusters

Kyle: Blaster Turret, Recon Specialist, Moldy Crow

Jake: A-Wing Test Pilot, Cherdon Riff, Push The Limit, Adaptability, Auto-Thrusters

Both are very fun to play. The first list Poe with an active Juke, need I say more. Kyle goes perfectly with Jake being able to transfer Focus Tokens at the start of combat and Poe being able to Target-Lock and still receive a Focus Token at the beginning of combat is pretty awesome too. With build 2, Kyle having Recon Specialist allows him to transfer a Focus and still have one for his Blaster Turret, also being able retain 3-5 Focus Tokens on himself with Moldy Crow before you encounter the enemy helps out in case of him becoming stressed. Also Poe no longer having R5-P9 he can use the Focus Token if he wants with Weapons Guidance to change a blank into a hit or to convert multiple Focus results.

Now with the new thought, I am going to use the second build except instead of Poe I'll use Ello Asty.

Ello: R2-F2, Expose, Experimental Interface

The idea behind this is with R2-F2 which is, Action: Increase your agility value by 1 until end of turn, and Expose which is, Action: Increase your PRIMARY attack value by 1 and decrease your agility value by 1 until end of turn, with Experimental Interface which is, After you perform an action you may perform an addition action on an upgrade card with the ACTION HEADER and receive 1 stress token. So after movement use R2-F2 then Experimental Interface to Expose making your Attack 4, Agility 2, Hull 3, Shield 3. Also if you get the jump on your opponent you can always skip using R2-F2 and use the Focus action into Expose or Target-Lock into Expose but it's very situational.

I think it's important to add that the reason I'm using Ello instead of Poe is because Focusing is very situational and since Poe likes to Focus, he's not very practical for this build. Please, by all means, leave a post, let me know what you think of my Rebel Phantom.

Today I was trying to think of more ways to convert defense die.

1. Auto-Thrusters

2. Poe

3. Lone Wolf

Just add R2-D2 or R5-P9 and Poe feels pretty stupid. Oh and I guess:

4. Luke Skywalker

That's all I can think of, any thoughts?
