Access Denied! The Empire says "NO"

By Izza, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So I noticed a couple of Imperial pilots have abilites that mess with your opponents ability to do stuff.

I thought I'd cram it all together in a list to be annoying as hell.

Could be fun (just not for my opponent)

Just need something to finish it off, I dont know all the cool options the Empire has,

“Omega Leader” (23)
TIE/fo Fighter (21), Juke (2)

Carnor Jax (33)
TIE Interceptor (26), Elusiveness (2), Royal Guard TIE (0), Autothrusters (2), Stealth Device (3)

“Dark Curse” (16)

Any ideas to round it out?

There is a Tie advanced pilot who does something like that but I can't remember the name.

tie/x1, acc corrector; juke = 28

problem is the Omega Leader is dead wrong (needs relay; NEEDS Comm Relay -- see that stealth device on Carnor? Axe that garbage. Comm relay!!!!)

Zertik Strom (29)

Not a whole lot of damage output, but would be annoying as hell to take down

I wonder, does Zertik's ability apply to all enemy attacks made within Range 1 of him, or just those directed at him?

Something to make the damage output stronger (also the synergy with carnor is great), would be juke on omega leader. If carnor is near the target juke is an always on crackshot (locked on or not).

Omega leader 26

-juke

-comm relay

Carnor jax 29

-veteran instincts

-autothrusters

Zertik strom 28

-title

-accuracy corrector

-juke

Dark Curse 16

Of course juke on zertik is great as well, with him always having 2 hits he doesn't need to focus for attack so taking evade is his default. I'd prefer push the limit on carnor, and if I did that I'd swap dark curse for wampa, but that would break theme.

Also, Zertik is all enemy attacks within range one of him. So if he's within range one of a guy shooting at carnor at range one, then the guy shooting at carnor doesn't get his range bonus.

ever considered opportunist on omega leader because a lot of people against that list might feel that doing the tokens might be pointless and this will force them to either take and extra dice on attack or waste their actions by putting tokens on their ship

Rudor can frustrate Rebel Aces to a super high degree (although he's not defensive; doesn't fit your thoughts exactly, haha):

OL + juke + comms

Carnor + PTL + AT

Dark Curse

OGP + Mara Jade + Tactician + Tractor Beam

Carnor Jax and Capt Kagi have been BFFs since Forever (meaning Imperial Aces coming out).

Jax w/ PTL, title, autothrusters & stealth device = 34

Kagi w/ Palpatine = 35

Strom w/ x-1, ATC & crack shot = 28

For the last three points, you can either put proton rockets or hull upgrade on strom. Alternatively, if you want an initiative bid, put enhanced scopes on Kagi for maximum blocking power (electronic baffle is also worth considering, but the scopes are pretty sweet on ol' Kagi).

Some key points:

-Push the limit on your interceptor. Except no substitutes (unless you like watching your ship get blown up). Elusiveness is crap in comparison to PTL.

-Normally I would consider hull superior to stealth on Jax, but in this case you have some added advantages of keeping stealth up: firstly, there's the combo of all three of your ships abilities, and secondly there's PTL for extra defensive tokens, and thirdly there's palpatine.

-I wouldn't bother with dark curse in a list like this. His damage output is laughable, and no one will shoot at him as long as Carnor is around. For that reason, Backstabber is superior.

-ATC on Strom because you have Palpatine and therefore don't need accuracy corrector as much. Again, Strom is in less danger while Carnor is alive (because everyone wants to kill Carnor) so getting a TL at PS 6 is not unreasonable, even against higher PS enemies (since you fly this list aggressively).

Its a pretty 'unfun' list to fly against, so don't expect to make any friends, especially if you bring something like this to like a league night or something!

I wasactually thinking about Kagi for different list, esp in relation to U Boats. Fill the shuttle with some stress giving crew, Sensor Jammer etc. And then ram Jax down thier throat

The Inquisitor is the other major troll pilot right now but you can't fit him in, especially if you give Carnor Push the Limit, which you should.

But yeah, Carnor, OL, Zertik and Dark Curse is a troll list I've been meaning to try.

This has always been my best (and generally most successful) troll list:

Carnor Jax

VI, Royal Guard TIE, Autothrusters, Hull Upgrade

Omega Leader

Juke, Comm Relay, Stealth Device

Captain Kagi

Emperor Palpatine, Sensor Jammer.

It returns!!!!!!! I love this list. I have posted about it a while ago and to this day it is one of my favorite lists to play. Usually i play zertik with sensor jammer, i like the accuracy corrector with juke though.

Everything is not about damage output. I flew Vader, Omega Leader and the Inquisitor vs Dengar and two G1-As and beat them. This was 7 red dice vs 9. Notable for two reasons. 1) I RARELY fly Imperials. 2) It was a 3 ship build, which I dislike. A little OCD on my part.

The thing to remember is the number of red dice you roll is not as important as the number of hits that get through. Rolling 3 reds vs 4 greens is not as effective as 2 reds vs 0-1 greens.
