technically we do have a system that helps ordnance: fire control system. It enables repeated hammering, which a bomber and punisher can then K-turn to perform since they dont need their next action necessarily. Both can move forward 1 so you could also attempt Adv Proton Torps by snailing forward, focusing, and hoping they didnt get out of arc. If they didnt get range1 just hit them with the 2nd proton torp lol.
Adv Proton Torps f'ing hurt when you can pull it off. Bombers with PTL, B-wing pilot Keyan, or pretty much any rebel ship with Kyle in his HWK flying around are the only ways ive found to reliably get it off though without multi-turn prep.
That being said, i wouldnt mind a system along the lines of "Guidance Trackers" - When attacking with a missile or torpedo, you may reroll ALL dice. 3pt mod.
Basically Han's ability except its only on ordnance. Finding a way to get a targetlock with your ordnance would still be better if you can since then you can elect to not reroll the 1-2 hits you did get, but this would help them by dramatically reducing their complete wiffing odds. Ive had many proton torps be fired and only cause 2 hits in the end...because i rolled 1 eye and 3 blanks (card perk and guidance chips....) lol
Fix The Punisher .... because no one's done this thread yet
goddamn repainted punishers make me so sad that FFG gave the ship the scyk treatment essentially
maybe not as bad, and at least they're not alone
my poor ACC correcter Faux FO squad ![]()

Also, if you really want to cry, allow me to share the most painfully underused Punisher I've ever seen (not mine, but a local's):

pics from September 2015; havn't seen it on the table since

Bombers only need their new Elite upgrade pilot so they can pull the whole U-Boat thing themselves. Instead of R4s you have Homing Missiles which also emulate 4-LOM. You pay in durability, but you gain quite a bit of PS.
I don't think deadeye is the way to go with gammas
Torpscouts get r4 and protons to emulate re-rolls & focus on top of g-chips
deadeye homing gammas just get focus mods on their homing missiles, which makes them more like the overclocked r4 scouts which is only there to get initiative in the mirror matches
now LRS gammas get full mods on their homing missiles (no g-chips, sadly) and have room leftover for crackshot
there's also the possibility of fun jank in the A-rush Gamma vet 5king (or 2-turning if you're boring) a mine into the opponent's face, but that's obviously hideously situational ![]()
Can only agree on the repaint thing!
Seriously menacing looking and I think it's perfect your handle is 'Deathrain'.
seems more of a Redline to me ![]()
it is funny that Redline is personally more menacing, because his playstyle is to roll in slowly and murder things like the slow, creeping inevitability of death

Meanwhile, Deathrain is perhaps the most fun pilot in the game, but the way he makes the clumsy, bloated punisher dance strikes me as more funny than menacing

Ive seen so few Punishers, after looking at the picture of the bomb drop, barrel roll, 3 bank, boost...I was left wondering how you got him to turn around 180 degrees. Then I realized you didn't, that's what they look like from the back....
Thought I'd toss my newly painted Punisher into the ring. Sadly the camera/lighting didn't capture the contrasts as well as I'd have liked but I think it gets the point across!

WORST SHIP IN THE GAME. THE END
You can kit it out any way you want! In this meta, it's lucky if it takes a ship out (assuming it even gets to fire) and will not be around to shoot in round 2. Sorry. It's broken.

props
so difficult to get a white paint scheme to look menacing, but this guy would've been a terror on hoth to eclipse even the ATATs

Thanks! Sadly it's kind of a light/medium grey... have to fiddle with my photoset up some more I'm afraid! ![]()

Trollolololol.
I laughed.
Punishers aint amazing, you won't win tournaments with them, but they're fun, and they can get work done - i had a game with redline, a black 8 sqn and a bomber yesterday, melted a uboat on the first pass, melted palob in the 2nd pass, then lost as the 2nd jumpmaster simply danced around me and dished out 1-2 wounds a turn.
It was a fun night.
Why do people insist that things are broken just because they're not winning tournaments? It's pathetic really...

except this thread is about punishers not bombers.
Bombers are cheap enough and have EPTs to be used in niche situations, even without the new pilots coming out. Punishers are the one that needs help, and thats what this thread is about.
A title or a sensor would be the obvious fix. Title would be punisher specific, sensor would potentially help the other 3-4 heavy bombers in this game (kwings ghosts potentially scum firespray)
How about a Punisher title that let you take two torp/missile shots off a single Target Lock? You'd have to declare that you are using both when you fired the first one. So no seeing how it turns out, but it'd give you the sort of alpha strike that 4 ordnance pods imply.
that would be absolutely devastating lol. While awesome i think that might be touching in the OP area, since firing off a double Proton Torp could 1shot a LOT of ships and leave the rest in a terribly sad state.
If that was a thing i would totally put LRS on there and send a couple Tractorbeams ahead. Cut the agi down, get into range3, throw 8 dice bam dead lol.
I didn't mean as a combined attack! 8-0 I just meant let it make two attacks from the single lock.
So you'd declare a target, state that you are firing two shots, roll the four dice twice against the target's agility rolls.
Or roll three dice four times. ![]()
Personally, I'm loving Fire Control System + Cluster Missiles + Extra Munitions + Guidance Chips.
imo this is the strongest loadout on deathrain. it hits hard.
Tie Punisher Title: "Advanced Targeting Sensors" 2pts. Whenever this ship acquires a Target Lock, assign a focus token to this ship.
A good friend of mine plays Redline pretty often.
Honestly... it is one of the most dangerous ships in our meta.
It is not easy to kill, because it has got 9 Hitpoints. It usually causes 4 damage, including 1 or 2 crits each round.
So, why exactly would it need a fix? ![]()
Is it actually very weak or easy to kill? Then please tell me how ![]()

I'm guessing you meant Redline, as this loadout does nothing for Deathrain.

Bit strong on red line.
Remove TLT from the environment... Fixed!
"Punisher A"
Title, TIE Punisher Only
Add 2 Munitions Tokens to each of your Ordnance. When you would discard that ordnance card for its effect you may discard a munitions token instead.
* Gives the huge carrying capacity the Punisher is supposed to have
This is awesome!!!!!!

I've heard this idea before and I think it's an amazing idea, but not as a title but a system. Combining this with FCS is a bit strong, but still gets you bonus offense. It needs a little tweaking to play with redline.
Edited by FourDogsInaHorseSuitMake it a target lock and a focus instead of two target locks.
This guy gets it.
