Transport and Storage

By Akaga, in X-Wing Off-Topic

Did a quick search but didn't find anything on this (although I'm sure there's something here . . .).

My collection is out-growing the storage box I got. I'm wondering how everyone else transports, stores and organizes the models, cards and tokens for this game. My only real play time is my lunch break, so I'm trying to minimize the amount of time I spend unpacking, setting up, searching for the right token and then putting everything back.

How does everyone else do it?

If you search the main X-Wing forum, you should find a couple threads.

Plano brand plastic tackle boxes are probably the most popular due to being the cheapest solution. Even if you store your ships in other containers, these are likely the best thing to store a bunch of types of tokens in an orderly manner. Stanely makes a 25 piece hardware organizer that's also very popular.

Foam cutouts are another popular method of storage. Feldherr makes some pre-cut sets of foam that perfectly fit X-Wing figures. Personally, I'm using a $24 hotwire cutter to make my own custom foam trays.
