Both games were close, though, I think

There was also a couple Inquisitor/Fel Palp Aces, a Brobots list, and Whisper/RAC in the 5-1s.

I played Erik's TLTs back when he was in Florida and he's a great player.

I think he probably caught a few people unaware because that list has been out of vogue for a while.

Think it's a clever choice though. Uboats have inexplicably disappeared in favor of Dengaroo after the FAQ, and that's a big reason quad TLT disappeared in the first place.

uboats were still running around regionals after the FAQ and they stomp all over dengaroo

Hehe... Erik here. I picked them mostly because Thursday was a really rough night and I wanted something easy to carry from table to table.

I was as shocked as everyone else that I was sitting at top table... Never expected that!

I got a little bit lucky and rolled some paint when I needed it and he rolled some blanks when I needed it.

For a few weeks now I've been thinking TLT's should be decent right now. I'm glad to see that's the case. Defenders don't have auto-thrusters. Dengar only has 2 agility.

After this tournament we'll have good meta data. (ha) Complaining about jumpmasters will have to stop. The R4 nerf was just the right amount of nerf.

idk, not having Tie/D didn't stop bio from performing well since before veterans even existed

I had a conversation with a player outside the US and it seems we're a bit of anomaly in that there don't seem to be a lot of torpedo boats here, but that they were still strong in Europe and elsewhere after the nerf.

Also of note is that there are still 60 lists remaining and we'll see what rises to the top today.

Right. TIE/D was on Maarek. Sadly, I couldn't stay second day, but there's at least one Defender in the cut.
