Care to let those who couldn't see it live in on the joke?

Thank you.

Is that a custom Alt Art Palpatine?

Is that a custom Alt Art Palpatine?

Same question.

I would make him use the correct shield tokens and emperor card… if not to just get in his head.

I don't get the shield joke. What are those tokens from anyways? And what was used at Hoth?

Is it legal to use any type of token you want to represent shields in tourneys?

Don't look at the Shuttle tokens. The Inquisitor tokens.

Some people started using Challenge Coins from winning Store Championships as Shield Tokens. This guy showed up and did that on one ship, PLUS used Regionals trophies as Shield Tokens on another ship.

Technically, the rules do say you can substitute anything you want for missing tokens or tokens you don't have enough of, as long as both players agree to it. But in a formal tournament, the TO could still say you have to use something more normal than a trophy, because the TO has final say on all game component uses.

Hmm, that does seem kinda douchey then regardless if there was a precedent for it at Hoth already. Also very odd the TO for an event as big as this would allow it, even if the players were ok with it.

I mean I have 2 store kit medals from winning them, but I don't drag them around me to events, let alone to use as tokens somehow.

Brother you've been living under a rock, this issue has been beaten to death months ago.

The issue of whether someone can use them has been brought up before. People are allowed to use them because they're official ffg items.

Also, they're awesome. I only hope for someone to make a competitive list with regeneration using something like this...

Ego party of 1.

so I doubt the lists will be posted but from what I recall

1) Duncan Howard- palpaces (soontir inquisitor shuttle)

2) Jeff Berlin- Dengaroo

4)Derek Tokaz - Tel and bossk with concussion missile and cracks-hot

4)Preston Blitzer- oicunn w/ palp and whisper

8)Ron Brannan- palp aces soontir inquisitor shutype

8)Dan Poppe-palpatine omega leader wampa inquisitor

8)Bryan England-Dengaroo

8) Gene Hogle-F/O swarm with weapons guidance

I'm sure this can be updated further myself, Richard Hsu, and Jeremy Howard rounded out the top ten

I am going to start using krugarrands for shield tokens.

Have the recorded games, video quality turned it pretty decent.

Flight 2 rounds 1-3, and all of the graduated cut to the finals with commentary starting at the cut. Jeremy even came in for the insider commentary for the finals.

Thanks again to the players for letting us record!

Oooh, I could use Kihraxz fighters as my shield tokens for dengar and a scyk as my shield token for Xizor...

I don't see the problem with challenge coins as shields.

Props, fella. Yeah you'll probably beat me too.

If you get psyched out by your opponent's swag, you aren't gonna win an event anyway. If you got it, flaunt it.

It's fine, he puts his dials on his cards which is not allowed. What happens when you forget to set a dial for a ship? Does your opponent get to choose? Rulebook fight. He's so done for lol.

Does that say that in the FAQ or rule book? Can I show up to an event without focus tokens and use pennies or whatever for tokens? I have 5 challenge coins and I want to force opponents that would prefer me to use regular shield tokens to have to deal with it. I could just not bring enough shield tokens.

I think milk went up my nose. LOL

And let's be honest, we all have a kajillion of those stupid things. He could have borrowed which is allowed (discretion of TO). I find it funny how many are condoning this d0uche move. I hope I meet him again. He admitted he got lucky against me at Canadian Nationals last year. Last year it was the exact same build but with a 31 pt Vader instead of the inquisitor.

I'm pretty sure Dan had that painted black and red palp aces with omega leader. Picture of it is around.

Fixed, it was late last night lol.

Who cares what he uses for his shield tokens? We can tell they're meant to be shields, and if you're pysched out by seeing someone with them then you aren't going to be able to win at the top tables. It's a joke, anyway!
