Seriously, we NEED a RTL subforum now

By AndrewMM, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

I know this has been adressed, but we still don't have the sub-forum. Just take a look at this:

In only a couple a hours. And I myself usually just skip those threads, as I'm not using the app yet. I don't even know how to contact the mods.

The bottom of the page says the forum is led by FFGAnton. Messaging him might be a good place to start.

AGREED!

@Zaltyre: I think at least one person already requested this before, but no action was taken.

Are you suggesting we all spam Anton's inbox? :D

I am in if needed :)

Don't come crying to me when your inboxes start spewing Volucrix reavers!

:o

The bottom of the page says the forum is led by FFGAnton.

Where?

Agreed. I also get the feeling that a lot of these topics are the same. While I approve of the new fanbase Descent got with the RtL app, I also think that the current structure of the forum doesn't give these new players a warm bath. This is partly because people don't always read the rules thoroughly before asking a question, partly a little careless app testing, partly lack of official rules support (A point I made a few times already).

This could perhaps be fixed by adding 'read this first when you have a rules question' to the 'index of useful links' topic, giving RtL a subforum with an active moderator that organizes/cleans the subforums so it is easier to navigate through, and FFG finally releasing the 'Errata that was promised' (well actually they never promised anything).

Edit: when I say 'I also get the feeling' that means I don't read through al these posts because there are just too many posts:p Overlord? No, overload!

Yeah, I realize that people want to talk about it, but I'd lie if I said that it's not mildly annoying to have all the RLT stuff going on when you don't actually play RTL yourself. It's a very different beast, honestly, and it needs it's own subforum.

Where?

Actually, I can't seem to find that link anymore.

However, you could probably go to your inbox, "compose new", and list him as the recipient.

I don't advocate spamming, that probably won't get the desired result. However, a reminder may be in order. I think a subforum would be a really good thing.

Well, I was joking of course, but it does seem that they removed the link at the bottom in response to it. I'm 100% sure it was there when I replied to your post.

I guess they do read the forums? :D

When Kindred Fire was released, couple of hours later, FFGEvan was reading the posts here. I intended to message him about this issue, but somehow I got distracted by the emotion of Kindred Fire that I forgot about it haha

I don't know if he is the indicated to solve the problem, but at least I think that if he was reading through the forum, he had some interest in the community's respond. Perhaps addressing this issue to him could be a start.

P.S. I support the idea. Additionally, I would like too to point out that Quest Vault has been abandoned while some of us still use it and are active there, but step by step, Subforum first.

[EDIT]: P.S. 2 I also think that there should be subforums for:
1) Rule discussions and FAQ: with most frequently question asked and that are not on the official errata & FAQ.
2) Painting miniatures: a forum where people can share their images and amazing painting works.
3) RtL: the one that is been discussed in this post.
4) Quest Vault: to update it, to pay attention to it and to please, taking it out from BETA? haha
Optional (my opinion)
5) Variants/Fanmades: there are plenty of people creating variants for the game, whether they are Coop, skirmish or campaign fanmades.
6) Tactical discussion: a forum where people can share and address their strategies and concerns about “heroes or overlord” OP or weak; or where people can discuss about balance issues in general.

I agree with everybody here.

I second that agreement, Voltaren proposes a very elegant design update to the forums. He has my vote.

Hahaha sorry mate I 'm just laughing at the name you gave me .... Voltaren in my country is a medical cream for muscular pain...

Anyway, yes, I think that's how subforums should be organized, so...

Okay people, I have sent a message to both FFGEvan and FFGAnton about this topic.

With this, it will be the second time with ask for this particular matter.

Hope to be listened and I will tell you if anything happens.

Impressive, that was fast. Road to Legend Subforum is now on top. Hope this could reorganize things here

Let all who doubt that FFG is paying attention be impressed... ;)

Now they should just move all RTL topics there :)

From what I understand so far it´s more like Shawshank: Sending letters for library donation every week till they finally answer. :D

I agree. We need a place to talk about the app, specifically.

Yeah, no problem, it was funny though.

As for the attention to this forum or the response, I think it was beacuse I mailed Evan along with Anton. It was Evan the one that respond and acted right the way. Moreover, until now, Anton hasn't even read the mail yet. I'm starting to wonder if his still on duty

Big thanks to you and Evan!
