I have an ISD2 with General Tagge and Needa with TRC on it. If I wind up discarding the Evade token before Rd. 3 or 5, when the Tagge effects comes in, will I be able to recover the Evade token, or does it revert back to the default Contain token?

The Token that you have Discarded is an Evade Token.

It should return as an Evade Token.

Tagge returns tokens that were Discarded. Not tokens that were Replaced. This is important, because if he allowed you to return tokens that were replaced, then you'd have ISDs with Needa getting 5(!) Defence Tokens if they were careful.

Tagge:

"At the start of the third round and the fifth round, each friendly ship may recover 1 of its discarded defense tokens."

Needa:

"At the start of the first round, you may replace 1 of your defense tokens with an defense token."

You've only discarded the evade, so you would recover the evade.

Thanks...I was just in doubt over whether "replace" key word in Needa kept the Evade in play throughout the game or not. I see now that the Tagge key word of recover 1 of "its discarded tokens" keeps in play.
