Quite liked that battle report. For the love of all things holy, can you move your mouse/keyboard away from the mic, or dampen next time pls.

I would add a little bit at the start explaining the philosophies behind the two fleets. Especially with something like pt's, it makes a big difference knowing why he has three gozanti seemingly doing nothing.

That A wing did make all the difference... scatter or no scatter.

The mic is built into the machine, so at most 8 inches from the keyboard - I tried to tell myself to hit the button softly, but when I get excited I tend to thump it a bit.

I will try harder in future...

Thanks for the feedback.

Put it on a rubber/foam surface instead then!

Probably time for a USB microphone then ... Well worth the investment.

Congratulations to your performance! I liked to read it.

Just watched the LTD vs PT106 video. Great fun.

I like how some of the objectives serve to draw opposing fleets into close combat (Fire Lanes and Contested Outpost). It results in exciting brawls!

Your video reports are great - thanks for posting them.

Tiny suggestion for your Vassal reports; try hold down the page down button or press it gently. It sounds like endless wardrums :D

Program your mouse wheel to spam space bar when it is turned.

Many Logitech mice have a free wheel mode that doesn't click of anything and can be programmed via Setpoint.

@Gink - thanks for fixing that link. Don't know what happened there.

@Shadowlord - I was pressing it quietly! There were some clicks early on, but it stopped eventually when I went to PgDn rather than the mouse, yes?

@Amanal - thanks - good suggestions.

I'm thinking of doing a report on a game I did not play - like the "Match of the Week" that BiggsIRL talks about. I will try to improve my methods.

Cheers!

The second one was much quieter.

I liked that you stopped to spend more time on the moment where you decided to split MC30's either side of the ISD. Its moments like that which define a game and its what I want to see in a game report. And muck ups with your admiral...

A new video report from Vassal.

There are some clicks early on, then it seems to smooth out.

"He has very few upgrades on that ship"

Literally out loud "Haha WHAT!?"

That said, thank you for the honest rundown of how I played.

Before you congratulate yourself too highly though, I should advise you of two things.

As you're aware, this game started at 2am and ended around 5am local time. That's the first thing.

Second: I also played against your list in a way that I can only describe as "against the grain" compared to how I would normally fly it, in an effort to challenge a list that is very different to most typical lists. A fleet with six ship activations and 9 deployments? Very impressive design there and you played it very well. Most other fleets would not have been so efficient at denying points in a similar situation.

Still not sure which was more important to the outcome, but in either case an excellent game. I really feel I hit my worst possible opposing list in this game: a combination of high activations, lots of squadrons, and bad objective choices. Frankly, I was fully expecting a 10-0 loss.

Beyond that, I won't be commenting here until later next week, as I think the meta of the list shifts drastically with wave 3+ ships. But I will say that I caught both lucky and unlucky breaks over the course of this game, and demonstrated some solid counters to what would be hard stops normally. One that I think is useful is pointing out that I correctly guessed that you were itching to use a few of your ships in particular ways, around turn 4 with Devastator in serious jeopardy, and maneuvered Devastator to encourage you into moving ships before you probably should have. I think this is what allowed me to gain the extra point when all was said and done.

Best of luck moving forward with the tournament!
