Bring in on the Biggs...

By jjdog79, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Weill this is my attempt to not only bring an Xwing to the board in the current meta with my shop overflowing with U boats. I'd also like to keep him alive for longer than a round, but we'll see how that goes...

Keyan Farlander-When attacking, you may remove 1 stress token to change all of your results to results.
Fire-Control System (2)
Plasma Torpedoes (3)
Rage (1)
B-Wing/E2 (1)
Hera Syndulla (1)
Biggs Darklighter-Other friendly ships at Range 1 cannot be targeted by attacks if the attacker could target you instead.
R4-D6 (1)
Integrated Astromech (0)
Nera Dantels- You can perform secondary weapon attacks at ships outside your firing arc.
Fire-Control System (2)
Plasma Torpedoes (3) Ordnance token
Extra Munitions (2)
Draw Their Fire (1)
B-Wing/E2 (1)
Jan Ors (2)

Keyan is my hammer, with Rage, his ability and hera to keep him mobile.

Nera will help Biggs with evades (through Jan Ors) and suck over some of the crits with DTF. 360 degree topedos should help too.

Biggs has R4 D6 to try to limit damage at 2 per torp, and IA to maybe keep him alive for one last shot.

Any suggestions or obvious flaws?

Nera is going to be firing naked plasmas with no mods since Jan Ors takes up your chips. Probably better having a Dagger with HLC and FCS

I'd lose the ept to help out biggs and no jan ors. Maybe switch to ibitsam and drop the torps?

2nd wurms. No chips, No dice.

Here's a list I've been having a lot of fun with:

Biggs, R4-D6, Int Mech

Wes Janson, R2-D2, Draw their fire, Int Mech

Keyan Farlander, Oppurtunist, HLC

I find the best way of keeping Biggs alive is to smash up ships before they get to shoot.

The combo of Wes with Keyan's Oppurtunistic HLC is brutal, and I've found Draw their fire nice with R2-D2 to clean up the mess next turn.

I've only managed to save a hit on Biggs with R4-D6 once, but Draw their fire helps every game.

I've been having good success with this:

X-Wing: · Biggs Darklighter (25)

· R5-P9 (3)

Shield Upgrade (4)

X-Wing: · Garven Dreis (26)

· R2-D6 (1)

Integrated Astromech (0)

Adaptability (Increase) (0)

B-Wing: · Keyan Farlander (29)

Rage (1)

Heavy Laser Cannon (7)

B-Wing/E2 (1)

· Jan Ors (2)

My meta isn't as u-boat heavy as a lot of others (from what I can tell) so Biggs gets a lot of use. Rage modded HLC from Keyan always hits hard, and Garvin allows for a focus and evade top go to Biggs. I have the points for R2-D2, but I've found more often that I'm needing my dial more than I need a focus token. The Adaptability allows for Garvin to shoot first/second depending on the opponents range to either strip tokens for Keyan or clean up after Keyan strips tokens. Always "spend" the focus token on the attack while Biggs is alive to pass it to him. Even if you don't have any eyeballs, you can spend the token, thereby passing it.

It looks like the Biggs/Keyan combo is pretty popular. I like your build for a U-boats heavy meta, while I feel mine does better against aces.

Keep Biggs alive longer !

Here's a list that I am currently flying and have been having really good results with. Its a modified version of 'Brace Yourself' as first posted on here by Jeff Wilder. From his original version I changed Wes from R2-D2 to R2 Astro and changed Draw their Fire to VI because my meta doesn't have a lot of munitions and I was rarely drawing a crit from Biggs. This allowed me to add Extra Munitions to Keyan, and OH MY GAWD does he hit hard with throwing a 5 die Proton Torp!

Put Hera on Keyan with Stay On Target and FCS. Take advantage of the Target Lock freebie and the reds generated by SOT. With Hera's ability you have back to back K turns, target locks and stress for Keyan's ability. SOT allows you to track a target that moved contrary to your guess.

Not enough people are playing Nera today IMO. She is fairly good with proton torpedoes. I have had a lot of fun with this. Biggs flies cover for the squishy B-wings giving them time to hammer out damage. Nera uses primary gun on alpha strike to get a target lock with FCS. Round two, Nera flies off in an unexpected direction to stay at range 2-3 and uses Deadeye to fire her torp. With the target lock, I almost always get 2 crits and 2 hits or better! Keyan dances around Biggs using PTL and Advanced Sensors to get into range one with a target lock and stress (attack focus). I have tractor beam just in case it I can use it to hang someone on a rock or reduce agility for Biggs and Nera. I even managed to push out eight crits on a decimator today. I have also killed Whisper with a well timed and unexpected torpedo from Nera.
