A ship with 0 Attack Dice

So I made a post a while back criticizing the XG-1 and the H-Wing, saying they wouldn't add anything to the game. I must amend my H-Wing criticism.

Looking at the wiki, it would have no primary weapon.

It would have a cannon slot, a turret slot, torpedoes, 1 or 2 crew, and a systems slot.

Quite interesting to have a ship that would rely solely on either a cannon or turret. Tactician with TLT? Totally brok-I mean, competitive. ;)

The hwk already relies on a turret with only having 1 attack die. Alex davy has already said he wishes theyd given the hwk 2 attack instead of one, I cant imagine them making a 0 attack ship (for standard play. Technically we have one for epic with the transplrt)

After the sleek curvy hot-rod beauty of the BTL-B Y-Wing and the only slightly less pretty BTLs that succeeded it, they went on to pluck the lowest hanging fruit out of the ugly tree with the K-Wing and and H-Wing

A ship with a zero primary weapon at a low cost with a card allowing it to take any one weapon could be incredibly cool

Every ship is theoretically, actions aside, capable of killing any other ship.

Priced appropriately there is nothing wrong with a 0 dice primary attack. If a ship has any kind of standard load out then it probably should have at least 2 attack with its primary but if you cut that out and lower the cost to include the secondary weapon it could work in many cases.

There are two more ships that deserve 1 attack die.

The TIE Scout and the Missile Boat.

I'd say it may depend on what variation on the TIE Scout you use but if they ever do a Missile Boat it is certainly a candidate for a 1 die primary attack. Furthermore, the Missile Boat wouldn't even include options for a Cannon or Turret because it's shooting ability is just that bad outside of missiles.

I'd like a zero Primary weapon ship that had action reloadable Munitions. I would play that in a second, also a zero primary ship that could weaponize stress.

Depends if it has a 0 attack primary or no weapon. If it has 0 attack but still has a primary weapon/arc, it would get the bonus die. If it has no weapon/arc it just cant attack (outside of secondaries)

Now that I read a bit more into it, the extra crew slots seem to be dedicated cannon and turret operators, like the Y-Wing has a dedicated gunner. So no crew slots after all? :/

I posted because Alex Davy mentioned the H-Wing along with the K-Wing in a past interview. Who knows if it's on the short list.

It would be interesting to see a ship that has zero attack, but is purely dedicated to either buffing your own team or debuffing the opposing team. It would have to be _cheap_. Super cheep. Like: start at 10 points with a really good dial and a good action bar. Give it the Jam action and the Coordinate action. Let it pass Target Locks and Focus Tokens.

Yes, I am describing some sort of unholy hybrid between a HWK-290 and a GR-75. But. Zero weapon. Zero hardpoints. Zero weapon upgrade slots. Zero ability to actually yank opposing ships off the board.

It could be a lot of fun.

Technically we have 2 for epic - the Gozanti and the Gallofree....though the Gozanti can buy weapons including its own specific one.

To be honest, the H-Wing seems like a funny ship to have fot Rebels.. They would get equalent ship to tie bomber! Would have plenty of torps, maybe small PTW, cannon slot and onr or two crew slots..bad dial and though ship..

I would hope, though, that the Missile boat would be able to have a torpedo slot and a missile slot, and wouldn't need to discard missiles when firing them (it would still need to discard torpedoes).

As long as it states 0 attack, then yes. In much the same way the Decimator and Ghost get a defence die at R3.

I think with the new damage deck - a 0 attack ship works , because it's not threatened by munitions failure criticals - though Boba-Fett is pretty mean there...

Like a ship totally dedicated to Electronic Warfare and used to buff/debuff. I like the idea a lot I just wonder if it would need to be in a bigger 'scale' than the dogfights of X-Wing. I guess you could have a highly mobile arc dodger that relied on speed to keep it alive who's job it was to strip away enemy cloaks and Autothrusters and target locks etc.

If the H-wing was ever implemented (honestly, it shouldn't be; aside from being very ugly, the off-center turret with only one cannon and rotation impeded by one of the cockpits is dumb) it would presumbably have a turret primary. Or maybe (this being the only way to make it interesting IMO) an ion primary.

Unless you put a dorsal turret on the HWK its usually poking its head in the "juuuust slightly too pricy for what im doing.." category. Problem is Dorsal turret is pretty bleh lol.

i'd still be surprised to get a 0 attack ship that isnt huge. Huge ships have other shenanigans to make up for it that would utterly break the game if they gave that crap to a nonhuge (jamming anyone?)

On any ship with TLT, the Barrel Roll action will be pretty nice. And letting a friendly ship attack at PS12 is a nice force multiplier.
