Oh lawdy!!! Twilight 2k!
Swoon!

I loved that game. I grew up playing D&D (far right of the shelf!) but there was something so alluring and dystopian and 'mature' about the Twilight 2000 setting that meant I never really went pack to fantasy RPG's.
And Champions. Very nice.
I would show you mine but they are all in boxes in the basement. They've been banished until a whole bunch of "honey-do's" get done around here.
P.S. Keeping Twilight 2K between Star Wars and the Trekkers is probably a good idea. Maintaining a neutral zone and all.
Edited by EyegorI have that Galaxies box!
Currently I don't have a nerd altar set up, as I've recently moved out of my apartment, but I'm always happy to show off my workstation/desk that I sit at constantly
I haven't had a chance to set up my Empire flag or acoustic foam because I'm only borrowing this room for three months, but come August, I'll have my man-cave of a dorm room set back up and it'll be beautiful, with all things SW everywhere
Found my twilight yellow box!

Mine have also been consigned to boxes in the basement for (literally) years but hey, new house, new office, old stuff
I have that Galaxies box!
As your name might suggest
I loved that game an unhealthy amount. I was the Mayor of a town on Gorath that pre-dated player-cities. Most fun I ever had in a game and am still pals with a dozen or more people I played with and have met at least half of them in person.

You are a beast. I have been getting by on my work machine but started setting up my machines yesterday, looking forward to seeing all those lights blink at me in the dark...

Pics, or it didn't happen
Oh man, I always wanted to get "Paranoia" but didn't have the cash or the playing group to end up with that in my basement
Mmmmmmmm....."Star Wars Miniatures Battles"...mmmm...
I also found this little fella - Judge Cal, from the miniatures for the Judge Dredd RPG - I must have painted this when I was 13-15 or so, but I have no idea how he has made it with me for these last 30 years.
He's evidently trailed me across 3 continents, 7 countries, 2 states, 2 marriages, 1 divorce and 3 kids and I only discovered him a week ago.
Never underestimate a Judge.
Hail Cal, you are made of lead and dangerous to those around you!

Buck Rogers: Battle for the 25th Century
That pretty much sums up all my free time in middle school. The only thing I still have is Buck (my brother's got the Battletech, and we didn't own Paranoia or Car Wars). We also used to clear our bedroom floor and build 'mechs from Legos and have 3D battles. Death from above was a wonderful thing for Lego 'mechs.
Car Wars, Star Wars: never made the connection until now. The mists are parting somewhat.
There was a time when I was buying pretty much everything Steve Jackson Games was putting on the shelf.
Step 1: Admitting that I have a problem

These are lost to the winds of time but man, I wish I had all these delights still...
Soo many memories... and many of them I no longer have. I did keep my Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord (for Apple IIe), some of my Everquest stuff and repurchased the D&D Player's Handbook and GM Guide. My stuff is scattered all over the house and in boxes. I will say, I did reinvest a lot of my RPG book money into X-Wing and I don't regret it! Pathfinder alone bought me the Tantive IV!
Galaxies... many good happy memories there and the sad decline to the ghost towns of the shutdown. Though, to be honest, I lost interest when they killed off my Beastmaster specialization. Still played my musician a lot, but lost interest in discovery that I had found and loved about the game. At least they shut it down, cause I have found that revisiting old games that are still going (looking at you Sony) tends to destroy a lot of the nostalgia. Very few upgraded and became better... actually, maybe only one... and it is still a niche game that I will forevermore love / hate. Well... two... but I still play Warcraft occasionally so it doesn't really count as ... well... yeah, it does... evolution comes with a price and I remember training up my pets from other pets and I liked it!

Ah, Creature Handler. I switched from BH/Carb to BH/CH and never looked back. I quit not long after the NGE, but I did resubscribe for the end and was there at server shutdown. I also had the dubious honor of being the last poster on the Gorath server forum before they shut it down.
I've been playing galaxies again on and off.
It's just so....
Hard to look at these days.
And the grinding....omg....the grinding....
But...the battle tech online stuff these days is REALLY good.

The German server! I had a character on it. I was taking German in college and the exposure helped me. But I can't remember which character I had on it.

You play SWGEMU? How is it? I'm still hoping they someday add JTL content to it. That's the day I'll bite and install it.
Not sure what a jtl is....but...the game seems to run just fine. Has lots of players and it's free....so...I'm not complaining. It's interesting for sure and I get why so many people play it. But, to me....as a guy who missed galaxies originally and never played everquest...it just feels super outdated.
The only game that old I can get into still is diablo 2....well.probably half life 2 as well...but I wouldn't know where to look to find a community running it.

And I have also dipped in and out of the EMU but agree with your comments. At the time it was (arguably) as groundbreaking as Space Invaders but similarity, very few games age well...
