This appears to be a new article detailing and listing exactly which products are legal for Organized Play, and laying out the rules for future releases ahead of large tournaments.

The new rules is that products have to be released for at least 12 days (a Thursday release and the following 2 weekends) before they can be used in Premiere Tier tournaments (Nationals, Worlds, GenCon, etc.). At lower levels players can use them starting day of release.

I am guessing this means the new ships will release a weekish before gencon.

They have a bunch of products coming out soon. Star Wars Championship Seasons are going to restart later this year for the new worldwide schedule, which may place them in the immediate launch window of Armada Wave 4 and X-Wing Wave 9 as well as the various LCGs and Imperial Assault.

I sorta drew the same conclusion the real reason for this was, someone on the mothership was thinking as they looked at the schedules between play and release.
