Lambda rear Arc
sure as hell doesn't seem like it will

Anti-pursuit lasers.
Maybe the eventual Rebel Lambda (with Tyderian title) will include new base inserts for the imperials with a rear auxiliary arc...

You're thinking of the escorts shuttle, which would be a nice addition!
The model already has them. Now they just need to stick an arc on the pilot chits.
According to wookieepedia, that gun is one of two things:
a retractable ArMek R-T0 twin blaster cannon, used to clear Landing Zones of enemy troops when the shuttle is being used as a transport and is making a combat landing.
or
a pair of Taim & Bak KX5 laser cannons, when the shuttle is in combat configuration.
In the transport configuration, the shuttle has two forward-firing Taim & Bak KX5 laser cannons. In that configuration, the rear gun is an anti-personnel weapon and should not have an arc for shooting space ships.
In the combat configuration, the shuttle mounts eight forward-firing Taim & Baks. If those 8 cannons are being represented by 3 dice, what should we do with the two to the back? .75 dice? 0 dice but you get a +1 for range 1? Impressive. 1 die if you're feeling charitable. Most Impressive.
"Anti-Pursuit Lasers"
Wasn't that the justification?
If it had a rear "special" arc like the Ghost has, I would kinda like it to be able to fire a 3 points or fewer cannon out of either arc. Maybe give it a modification that takes up a crew slot (representing the mass taken up by the extra wiring and whatnot) that would let this happen. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to fire from it.
But! Good luck getting that cardboard into people's hands. It would basically be a complete reprinting of the Lambda. Having said that, while we're at it, I want Kagi to have an EPT so I can put Expert Handling on him...
How does this keep coming up? You would think the Lambda is a fun enough ship as is...

The point of the Lambda is that it's a very efficient ship with arguably the worst dial in the game. If it had an aux arc it wouldn't be the Lambda anymore. It'd be like giving Aggressors turrets, you're just ruining the theme of the ship.
Also, the shuttle doesn't need a buff. Palp Aces is already good enough and Electronic Baffles is a great card. That's enough.
Lambda shuttle is fun enough as it is?
Who ever uses it for anything but a palpmobile? It cant turn for gak to make use of its cannon slot, really easy to get behind it and screw with it, dies pretty easy (though it is beefy for the cost), and no EPT to pull any fancy shenanigans.
Ive tried to use it quite a few times without palpatine barebones build. It doesnt work lol its way too easy to sneak up on.
I think it's very unlikely they never playtested a Lambda with a tailgun.

Then you haven't tried it enough times. The dial is incredibly tough to master, but the ship has stats so good that it rewards you. Ignoring all the Palpatine hype my favourite remains the Doomshuttle with just Vader crew.

The ship can move-on like an A-wing distance-wise, but it turns like a, well, it doesn't like to turn at all really. I realize it's FFG propaganda for the most part, but this is a really helpful write-up:

I like Sables Lambda 101 better, that article took a lot of points from it, though.
You can overcome the turning issue with Engine Upgrade. Nowadays you might just go running Brobots if you do that, but it is still a lot of fun!
Doomshuttle is incredibly fun to fly, with the 0 speed maneuver you can get at least 2 shots in and 2 Vader's before they run.
That's when you chase them with the rest of your list XD

DoomShuttle.
And the Translucent Cosmic Manatee Waffle Court.

Give this a try. It's the original Buzzsaw build and it _hurts_. It has a hard time turning around, yes. But. Careful flying with the rest of your squad will give your opponents a series of hard choices to make. It pairs very nicely with a Vessary for added funsies.
And never, _ever_ discount the fact that a Large ship's primary arc is about 12% bigger than a small ship's primary arc.
Even though Wave 9 has mechanics that some wish were in wave 2 & 3 it is unlikely that those ships will be reprinted with those actions. That would require a true 2nd edition.
Although sure it does look like the shuttle should have been 2 firepower with the TIE SF title. But it is not.

To be fair that article is really old. Brobots and Vader on a Decimator makes for better builds. Also the new half point rule really hurt shuttles in a combat role, especially the doom shuttle because you are certain to give your opponent 12 (enough to break modified wins) points if not the full 24. However the Palpmobile is one of the best things as it is like a crackshot C-3P0 combined. Not to mention having an HLC and EU allows it to deal some serious damage in its own right.
Edited by MarinealverNot sure about the Decimator being strictly better than the Doomshuttle. The shuttle is 25% of your list, the Deci closes in in 50%! I never liked that much about the ship.

Depends on what you are using it for. If you want it to power Vader's rage then the PWT on the Decimator makes it scary for Aces as none of their tricks work against it.
You are a highly agile arc-dodger with auto-thrusters, stealth device, a stack of tokens and Palpatine backing you up? Too bad, I still force choke you!

Sure, but the Shuttle just leaves more space. You are going to laugh, I was considering this:
98 points
PILOTS
Omicron Group Pilot (29)
Lambda-Class Shuttle (21), Emperor Palpatine (8)
Omicron Group Pilot (24)
Lambda-Class Shuttle (21), Darth Vader (3)
The Inquisitor (31)
TIE Advanced Prototype (25), Push the Limit (3), TIE/v1 (1), Autothrusters (2)
“Wampa” (14)
I might be crazy, though. And I'd need a Raider and a second Shuttle.
Hmm, different but possibly not entirely crazy. That is 27 hit points to chew through and 10 Red dice is enough to threaten most lists.
Wampa and Doomshuttle will terrify Aces and Rebel Regen. Inquisitor is a slippery little blighter and your shuttles can throw out enough attack dice to make a mess of larger ships.
You have 2 points left, maybe put FCS on Palpys shuttle just for extra boost to shooting? On the other hand, those 2 points could make a useful Init bid against U-boats as you will really want to be shooting before those torpedoes start to swiss-cheese your shuttles.
