Vader,howl, 3x black. Cracks

By Velvetelvis, in X-Wing Squad Lists

No obvious problems I can see. Happy flying!

Thank yah' pardner

Have you played with this? Howd it go? Im thinking of going Echo + 4x BlackCracks

Not yet. I'm fidgeting with the squad builder. But I will eventually try it. Hopefully soon.

I don't know if there is a fluffier squad in the world. It's mighty fluffy.

I want to run echo more as well. Keep it random ...let them chase echo in crazy ways while the miniswarm does it's work.

I like this list a lot! It has everything a good Imp list needs. Plenty of hulls, good reds and a healthy init bid. Fly the hell out of it and get good with it and I'm sur eit will be a contender.

Finally got to try this one out. I lost but I didn't really fly well.

The list feels good though.

If I change anything it would be tweaks to vader or replace him.

But....then it isn't all fluffy and cool.

We'll see...I'm going to keep running it.

I ran a similar list (Fel instead of Vader) at a 35 player SC a few months ago (http://lists.starwarsclubhouse.com/get_tourney_details?tourney_id=1428), and it worked pretty well.

The tricky part is to bring two very different elements together into a functional battle plan. Knowing when to hold your ace back and when to bring him forth is crucial.

On a more specific note, I would go for VI instead of Adaptability. One point of PS is better than a point of initiative bid, since Vader is the only one that will be taking advantage of it.

I use the exact same mini swarm with this guy on Vassal:

Glaive Squadron Pilot (34)

Veteran Instincts (1)

Tractor Beam (1)

TIE/D (0)

They work well separately, or in unison, as tractored targets fall quickly to swarms, and it allows for them to sometimes keep their Crack Shot for other targets, or allow them to punch through high agility targets that much easier.

I don't know about Fel, the elements just seem to different. I like Vader with the swarm though, but that may just be more due to canon than anything else.
