Edited by Krynn007That doesn't look like a dial he's using. He has 3 ships on the board with 3 dials and that's a 4th dial. Unless I'm blind, which could be...
Edit: Nevermind, I was looking at the wrong person. ![]()
Edit: opinion no longer required.
Edited by sweetsweetdoughnutsSend it to FFG or ask the person involved. A witch hunt on the internet isn't going to solve anything and can do real harm.
Even my wife noticed it in a second.
That said, take it up with the store and the player, this would only lead to an online tribunal.
From what I've been told there had been warning issued in the past, and the store is going to make mention before next tournamentabout such activities.
Sounds like they are taking precautions
Imo if someone cheats then they should be called out on it and be ashamed of themselves.
After watching this video a few times, and information I have received, I'm fairly certain there is foul play involved.
Anyone caught cheating should be shamed imo
IMHO he clearly turns the dial
SHAME

Can't say for certain about him changing the dial, but I'll mention that it's very suspect that he's playing with the dials laid out like that, and not on the board where they're supposed to be.
This is being dealt with locally. No need for the witch hunt.

Unfortunately since this is a store championship it is an issue for FFG to decide on. The game is getting more popular and the last thing we want is a bunch of cheaters playing the game at higher levels. He is blatantly cheating and should receive a ban from FFG.

Have you ever been the focus of hate from thousands of online trolls? Perhaps you should give it a whirl before deciding that another deserves it based on you being "fairly certain".

Wasn't there some sort of updates ffg made on banning players?

I know a lot of people who play like that, myself included when there's a real furball going on.
Having said that, the big issue is how early he picked up the dial. I have no issue with the dial on the table edge, but you CAN'T be touching the dial when your opponent is moving his ship.

Let alone even attempt such a thing while being on video
Also I was curious to see what others think
I could have been mistaken, maybe I'm wrong, but if something like that is questionable, is it not OK to ask the community, on their opinion?
Its not like I gave out buddies address.
But If cheating is taking place then it should be made aware imo.
I may end up deleting this post here real soon anyway

I got better.
Burn her anyway!
Ynot, I feel this type of post serves no purpose. The TO from that area will deal with it as they see fit

This place is not your special my little pony friendship is magic hugbox. You cheat you die.
These types of discussions serve a purpose. A very necessary purpose. They remind us that some people do have the gall to cheat at this game and to be on guard.

It affects more than you think. If this cheater wins a Store Championship and then goes onto Regionals and wins that...all the way up to Worlds. This shouldn't happen and may deny some honest decent players the chance to advance. This individual doesn't deserve to compete if they cheat. It is clear that he is cheating from the video.
And all too often it becomes a case of 'i think you cheated, so you must be dragged through the lowest level of the sewers' proof not required.

Have you viewed the video?
I haven't seen the video, but I disagree. Don't cheat (on camera!) and you won't have a witch hunt after you. This is being dealt with locally. No need for the witch hunt.

Everybody wants fair play, there's no use working up into a frenzy on the boards here because it's unproductive. In less certain cases, it can lead to hostile overreactions regarding cases that end up being misreads, leaving angry folk to look stupid (or double-down and proclaim FFG to be wrong or sympathetic to cheating) and the targeted player to feel, well, targeted. It's better to just report it to FFG, expect them to make an accurate call, and continue to fly casual.
