Keyan Farlander is a beast of a B-Wing pilot, with excellent possibilities for action economy, offense, and a very adaptable pilot skill. What happened to this guy? Looking at old posts it seems like he used to see a lot of play, but I haven't seen him mentioned in a while.
What Happened to Lucky?
A plasma torpedo and a proton torpedo happened. :-(
I don't think I've seen any B-Wing pilot since wave 8 dropped, my guess is that Uboats just wipe them out too quicky.
I don't think he ever got much competitive play. There were a lot of people excited about him and his ability but when it actually came down to getting him on the table and winning with him I think he had trouble earning back his points.
**** shame... He was tough as nails for 32 pts with PTL and hellish at 33 with VI and Experimental Interface
I run em like this sometimes... i just dont run rebels alot.

I've been really excited to put Rage in a list lately, but it's hard to find good candidates. Your build for Keyan is exactly what I would run, but like you, I just don't run Rebels often.

Pretty much. Generic B-wings are great value for their points, but the more expensive they get the less cost effective they are, because while you may get some offensive boosts, you still die just as quickly as that 22 point generic. Given that, the increase in your offensive potential would have to be worth more than the extra points you're spending over the 22 point generic for it to be worth it, and in practice that's just not the case with any of the named B-wing pilots. The Y-wing has the same problem, really.
I had a team like this before the T-70 dropped with Wedge, held up alright but wasn't my favorite to fly.I run em like this sometimes... i just dont run rebels alot.
you can make the t-70 a wedge with BB-8 and Outmaneuver (or Juke for hilarity with ors) and if you go with juke can give keyan an ion cannon for better set-ups.

Experimental interface doesn't get you anything here. There are no action: cards.
I ran keyan with stay on target and advanced sensors. Dial in a 2 anything, advanced sensor target lock, and then spin your dial to what you need. Every attack lands.
I think its a combination of jousters being down at the moment due to the increased power of the alpha-strike and the increasing arc-dodging options and the unique B-wings being tricky ships to keep alive long enough to earn their points back.

if only he had boost (and not for thrusters on one die), then he could sensor out a boost and SoT right into the jumpmaster's face instead of getting splattered

Oh theyre out there. Ratfink got pretty strong in wave8 because of the Ghost crew allowing him to perform red moves while stressed, and spend said stess like focus when attacking. Fire Control to get targetlocks.
**** thing is hard to avoid getting either range1 blasted with 4 die or range 2-3 blasted with 4 die from the laser cannon, and if he gets arc on you twice he fires a proton torp. And with biggs around it takes forever to get rid of the fether lol.
Only time ive beaten that guy's list is when i managed to call where Biggs was going and perfectly line up my Decimator and 2 TIE/fos to be range 1 of him with their shenanigans ready and i owned him turn 1 with **** near no rebuttal from his other ships.
edit:
Keyan Farlander (29)
Vet Instincts (1)
Proton Torps (4)
Extra Munitions (2)
HLC (7)
Fire Control System (2)
B-wing/E2 (1)
Hera Syndulla (1)
Total: 47
Thats the build. Faced that sucker multiple times with a Biggs and two bare Z95s. It is ANNOYING lol especially if im running Mara Jade on the decimator or Rebel Captive.
Actually probably doesnt have the extra munitions in there. I know he has at least the proton torps in there though.

Why do so many posters feel the need to use cute name for pilots other than what's on the card? I kind of get giving the unique TIE/fos names because it can be kind of hard to keep them all straight, but calling Keyan "Ratfink" is just confusing and makes me have to read the post a couple of times to figure out who in the hell the poster is referring to.

HLC AND protons AND EM?? Talk about a waste of points.

Like Wedge or Talonbane, he has an excellent ability but zero durability. He has no regen or any of the hyper defense that the Imperial Acewings have so he's going to die when things shoot at him.
Too much low Agility hate out there for him. Had a great time with Stay on Target, and Intel Agent though.
I've got a fav casual list with Keyan. =)
But Bwings don't last very long. Keyan lasts longer than Nera for some reason though. I think the PS.
