Same Skill Specialty, more than once

By LukeZZ, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Can a Character take the same Skill Specialty more than once?

Do you mean, can a a character have two DIFFERENT specialties for a specific skill, or buy a specialty TWICE, granting an additional Fortune die?

eg.:

PC has Stealth (specialty: Urban) and Stealth (specialty: Rural)

OR

PC has Stealth (specialty: Urban X 2) for two fortune dice?

I assume he's talking about the latter; and the sense I get is no. You can train in Stealth, but you'll only ever take a specialty once. So if you have trained Stealth twice + the specialty Urban, you would roll your characteristic dice + 2 expertise + 1 fortune.

That sounds right to me.

However, *I* have been wondering about the former. Can you have two specialities for one skill?

If not, taking a skill advance to gain specialty sounds like a bad deal if you plan on finishing your career ... you'd lose out on the "free" specialty.

I'm pretty certain there is no limit to the amount of specialities you can have for a single skill.

But I agree with everyone who has said that you aren't supposed/allowed to take the same speciality again because if you could you would end up with melee speciality "Handweapon*5" being very common, etc. etc. for other career important skills.

Yes, I was talking about the second "option".

Thank you for your answers!
