Navigate Command + Nav Token + Nav Team

By BrobaFett, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

I just wanted to clear something up that seemed relatively straight forward, but yet was just funky enough that as I played last night I couldn't tell if I was within the rules.

If I am running Nav teams(" Your Navigation tokens can either change your speed or increase your yaw value by 1."), have a nav command, and a banked nav token, can I use 2 extra yaw clicks in one maneuver?

I searched the forums here, as well as reddit, and couldn't find anything about this exact situation. Again, my gut was that I could stack the effects as conc fire and squad tokens could be stacked without an issue, but I just figured I would put it out here and see if I could get an amen to that.

Unnecessary background information:

In this case I was running a Raider, going speed 3 which I upped to 4 and then took 0-2(1+1 dial)-1-2(1+1 token) clicks for yaw. I was really impressed with the performace of spamming nav and abusing tokens on them, and while it might not have been a super competitive list I was trying out, I was thinking that I might end up throwing nav teams on one of my low bidding fleets if it meant I could stack the token for a handbrake turn like this and maybe catch someone unaware.

Sure can!

Navigate Dial = Speed Change and/or Yaw Addition

Navigate Token = Speed Change

Navigate Token with Nav Team = Speed Change or Yaw Addition

Navigate Dial + Token = Speed Change + Speed Change and/or Yaw Addition

Navigate Diak + Nav Team Token = Speed Change OR Yaw Addition + Speed Change And/or Yaw Addition.

Changing your speed by 1 and getting 2 additional clicks of Yaw... Totally allowable.

and imagine what it'll be like for a Rebel Nebulon B or Corvette with Madine and Nav Team popping a Dial and Token.....

So just to be clear, would Nav Dial + Nav Token + Nav Teams + Madine Means +/-2 speed and +3 yaw clicks in a single maneuver? (1 speed from dial, 1 from spending dial with Madine, 1 click from dial, 1 click from nav team, 1 click from Madine?)

Also, thanks for the response! I think this is definitely a trick I will be taking to the store tournament I am going to tear up this weekend as I take out my rage of missing the 3 closest regionals (and my shot at those beautiful dice and initiative token, grr) because of life events out of my control.

Madine will make things. . .tricky. From the way it is written, it's hard to tell whether the Madine ability replaces or augments what your Nav tokens do. I'm leaning toward the first, replace. Otherwise, a single Nav token could increase/decrease speed by two and give you an additional yaw, giving you three effects. Your Nav dial would allow you to increase/decrease speed by one and give you two additional yaw, giving you three effects. I doubt they'd have Madine make Nav tokens as effective as Nav dials, because dials are always supposed to be significantly better.

In my interpretation, Madine is essentially Nav Teams for every ship AND an additional click of yaw with a Nav dial. But think about that. An MC30c with Raymus Antilles at Speed 3 can go 2-2-2 every **** turn . A Speed 3 CR90 can do it every turn with just a dial.

I wonder if they were drunk at FFG when they came up with this. "Hey, y'know what super-dodgy Rebel fleets need? TO GET MORE DODGY!!!" "F***ing brilliant, Jim!"

In this case I was running a Raider, going speed 3 which I upped to 4 and then took 0-2(1+1 dial)-1-2(1+1 token) clicks for yaw.

Wait... How did you get Nav Teams on a Raider?

Not sure if you mistakenly said the wrong ship here, but only the Gladiator out of all currently available Imperial ships can take a Nav Team upgrade.
