Theoretically fiddly bits on the hilt are thicker than the blade, so it might not go all the way through?
Ah, but the metal around the blade would turn to liquid slag or whatever, allowing it maybe slip though...
Sounds like we need to experiment!

When Kanan breaks the Grand Inquisitor's lightsaber, both halves hit what I'm guessing are the engines to the star destroyer they are on and that's what causes it to explode. So yeah, there's a precedence for this kind of thing
