Force and Destiny Adversary/Bestiary Book?

By KnightErrantJR, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

I posted this in both the AoR forums and the EotE forums, but I'm wondering if the customer base for the game would be willing to buy something like this.

I know that the 40K line is similar, and all of the lines except the DH 2nd Edition line, have had bestiary books.

Even more than the other two lines, it seems like Force and Destiny would benefit from Force cultists, Force sensitive creatures, as well as Imperial Inquisitors, specialized troops, and bounty hunters.

So I'm just curious to see of customers of the line would be interested in this kind of product. While I would love books like this, personally I don't want "Plot Critical" characters like Palpatine or Vader stats in books of this nature.

So, anybody interested in this kind of product? Just me? Just kind of curious, as I was thinking of what kinds of books beyond the career books, location books, and adventures we might see.

They don't really go for books dedicated to a single thing (ships, or weapons, or species, or adversaries) instead bundling some of each together with a connecting theme. It makes it so that every book is attractive to most players even if no single book has exactly what you might be looking for. They are hoping that every player feels compelled to buy everything. I would have done so anyway, but not everybody comes in that way.

Adversary decks. It'd be nice of they released some more, but those are pretty much what you're asking about.

No. Maybe I'd feel differently after they finish all the careers, but at present ....... no. As a general rule of thumb such books tend to be sink holes. They truly only appeal to GM's and have little value to players. I think the strength of the line thus far has been that the books the produce (with the exception of adventures but even then sometimes .....) are for the most part for everyone.

I don't think he's looking for a collection of the adversaries, rather a slew of additions to them. As to what I think about that? I always like adversaries, but I doubt we'll be getting a book for them. At least, not until we get a book for every Career, 1 or 2 region books per line, and a bunch of adventures.

My problem is so much is already recycled between books that well...

That is where Adversary Card collections would be an awesome compromise.

Having more than just what is in the Core in their POD cards would be great.

Well at least the next Splatbook (Seeker) will have a lot of creatures in it, think they announced about 30 different(?)

So that will help to pack some life in the "Wild".

The Seeker book (Savage Spirits) is already out, at least in 'Merica.

good point... that means I´ll have to wait... well 2-3 year here in good ol´Germany.

Well I`have to get it online as all the other good stuff ;)

As I mentioned in a similar thread over in the AoR sub-forum, we probably won't be seeing any sort of compilation/best-of book, be it for adversaries, creatures, starships, or equipment until the product lines begin winding down and FFG is getting ready to drop the line entirely. Frankly, it's much more profitable for FFG to have a mix of content in their books, something that WotC took advantage of with their Saga Edition line, offering material for players of all stripes as well as GMs.

Given how the books are selling like gang-busters and FFG has had to do reprints of pretty much every book, that end point is probably quite some distance in the future.

The only problem is that for those of us who are endlessly driven to collate, spreading a little of everything through every book eats away so much of our time!

Argle-Blargle...I have six different spreadsheets and Word documents just for getting all the different stats in one place, and it's still not enough!

Life lesson, kids: Don't do the crazy, it'll ruin you!

Savage Spirits has a lot of recycled beasties in it...

I also think the hardest thing to overcome in a book that collected everything is the fact that most of that material would be recycled. I mean sure ..... it's all in one location ......but we already complain when stuff gets recycled to the small level it does now. An entire book of recycled stats is not something I picture going over well.

I could be wrong of course. I mean I thought FFG would never do any sort of TFA tie in soooo.
