Hi everyone,

I was playing around a bit today with a slightly different take on a pilot card. All the information is there, but I've redone the interface to look a bit more 'cockpit'-like.

I've had to borrow the Vessery art for this card until I finish painting my own, copyright for the Vessery artwork is to FFG, as well as a wireframe for the Defender off Wookiepedia, however the rest is what I've redone.

I like it. It's pretty.

I've got a feeling the action icons might come across as a bit small when printed to regular card size though. Same with the upgrade icons. The missile and canon ones really blend in to the background.

Other than that I think this is fantastic work. Great job. I hope you make more.

Isn't he 35 not 25 points?

It looks awesome, but there's two things. A) Vessery costs 35 points and B) a lot of that detail might become clutter when you shrink the thing down to a card size.

The design is awesome, but you always have to keep things like final font size in mind when putting together something like this.

woops. missed the placeholder text. Two secs.

okay, I swapped the actions into the lower bar, both the actions and the upgrade bar are 2/3 the size as what you'd see on the normal card. The text, surprisingly, is the same size, except for the Vessery action text, which is 1 point smaller.

That works a bit better.

Personally, I think the lower left Defender identification symbol should be bigger, and I'm not sure what the laser blast circle in the lower right is (just left and down of the points cost). It seems like that should be the Imperial cog symbol. Point cost and actions/upgrades could stand to be a bit bigger, too. Honestly, though, these are nit-picks. It looks great right now.

That's showing how the ship fires. It's got 2 arrows for aux arcs and a circle for pwts. It's on every pilot card above the stat line and is actually pretty important I think.

Okay, to address comments as above, I've tried swapping in the actions to the console below, and then just moving upgrades to black and white to the top right. Could also keep them closer to the bottom. Not sure, I've reposted this above as version 2, see what you guys think.

Looks amazing. I like the cockpit feel. You can see a few of the background stars on the upper set of panels.

The wireframe bit is pretty but takes up a chunk of space that might be better served with pilot ability text.

Couple things: yes, needs the faction affiliation symbol. Also, unique pilots need the dot before the name.

I like the upgrades and actions on that bottom bar: maybe they'd stand out better in black & white there?

I know this question is outrageous, but wouldn't you be interested in releasing a template for us to make other ships like that?

Now I've seen custom cards before, but THAT is pretty. If I could make some fancy nice-looking cards, I'd totally print out something like that for everyone and stick em in the back of my card sleeves (so I have the nice tourney-legal version on the reverse side).

okie dokes, I've tried to take into account what people have been saying, all fair points.
I've enlarged the text on the main HUD, enlarged the text for the pilot name, increased the size and fidelity of the overhead HUD,
shuffled up the flight computer so the action bar is more visible.

I've put the newest one at the head of the post!

if i could print things on something other than basic paper i would totally steal this right now. Freakin beautiful.

What does the Arubesh say?
