Where do you get your ordinance?

From your local government or municipality.

Sorry. I felt compelled.

Barry has mentioned in the past that a lot of material he uses come from regular model kits like jet fighters, tanks, and naval ships. He's got oodles of spare parts from decades of modeling. Or so he's said in previous posts.

If you haven't already, find some of his other threads. There are a lot of helpful tips for painting and modding if you take the time.

Okay! Thanks!

Someone check on Barry, he hasn't visited the forums for a month! (Sept. 24th)

Good Morning Barry,

I see in your pictures, the small straight edges you use to make your cuts in the fabricated pieces. Where did you find them and what was the cost?

P.S. what size styrene sheets do you use for wing fabrication for you vehicles?

I know I'm not Barry but...

If you go to Hobby Lobby (or maybe any other hobby store) you can pick up a small straight edge (6 in) for about $1-$3.

Hope this helps!

Here's a question for Barry:

What kind of glue do you use?

Hello Guys,

so while i'm now off for a while and getting lots of sleep, ill be doing some catching up on here :D

And updating the rest of my threads including the Weathering section.

All the best,

Barry.

Looking forward to Catching up with some more builds !

Looking forward to seeing all of your new Builds and re-paints.

All the Best,

Barry.

Ha Ha Sorry :P

And Thanks.

Here you go then.

A little something I have been playing with.

A custom K-WING.

I have never liked the look of the K-Wing and I chopped my model up and then had it sat in the " Bits Box " for the past year.

Then Had a spare nose of a Protectorate Fighter................

jMyOhg.jpg

Sort of had an idea in my head of how I wanted it to look.

chopped up the wings so I could get the dihedral stance I was after.

Then Added some extra ordinance from my parts box's.

K-WING in grey Primer, needs some surface finishing but nearly there.

K-WING Heavy Fighter Bomber.

Might paint it in the Standard Rebel Y- Wing yellow and White.

So it fits in with a standard Squadron.

I will post more photos soon :D

All the best,

Barry.

This makes me wonder about using the K Wing's engines for my G1A conversion...

So do you just use a normal X-Acto knife or is there some special knife/cutting set you use?

The first thing I thought was that a racing car might drive out the front, and a motorbike might drop out of an engine pod!

Or perhaps royal blue with red detailing.

:D

I use Swan & Morton Scalpel's and blades.

And a Wooden Handle " Safer and more comfortable to use " Razor Saw.

You can get both very easily off eBay :D

Like both items in this photo.................

That K-wing mod looks so good. I wouldn't mind losing to Miranda if her K looked like that!

Welcome back. I hope you get some much needed rest.

I'd also recommend a Tamiya Plastic Scriber. It's a great tool specifically for cutting thin sheet plastic and for scribing in panel lines and details.

Yes

Scribers are a useful tool to get the panel depth.
