That's all for now.
This model is finished and so now ill be getting on with the YT-1930 and a Converted Skurrg H-6 Bomber for my Mandalorian Commandos
All the best,
Barry.
Freaking awesome!!!
Looking deadlier than before!
I constantly confuse the front of the unmodded ship with the back & vice-versa. Doing something like this for myself would certainly help.
Great job Barry!
You certainly nailed the Terminator look with that IG-2000. Thumbs up as always mate!

Cheers Majeure,
Yes that's why i modded the model, it kind of looks unfinished, or rushed in some way with the aspects of the design.
The body shape is great but it needed something extra to bring emphasis to the general lay out of the ship.
front to back that kind of thing, as you said.
Thank and all the best,
Barry.

Thanks Ken.
Its not very star wars but it is fun taking design cues from other genres.
As I will do with another build of a G1-A Starfighter modelled around the UD-4L Cheyenne Dropship from Aliens.
that will be fun to do
All the best,
Barry.

WOW very impressive and awesome work as always! Thanks for sharing!
You're my favorite repainter/remodeler (is that even a word?), not only because of your stunning work but also because you always make sure to post some nice words about other people's projects. I nominate you for a "Forums Model Citizen" award.

Thank you very much Siddhi.
Glad to be of service

up to my neck in it and so much to do....no time to play.
So Im not ignoring you all, just trying to stay afloat amongst the huge workload I have at the moment.
Hopefully soon have time to get back to modelling.
All the best,
Barry.

Take care all,
All the best,
Barry.
REALLY dig the cockpit glass and the engines on this. Are you using jewels or is that paint?
Thanks and keep up the great work!!

The cockpit is paint, but as you suspected, the engines are stick-on jewels. Buys them by the sheet off ebay from memory.
Thanks for the comments.
Yes I use plastic jewels for the engine glow.
If you go to the first page on the thread.
You will see where I get them from.
But they are readily available from craft stores and eBay.
All the best,
Barry
Finally have some time to get on with a new build.
And as I want to add a Skurrg to my Mandalorian Commando Squadron, I want to customise it first before I repaint
it in a Camo Scheme.
I like the look of the Scurrg but thought it might look good by taking the same approach as I did with my Lancer.
Adding some wings either side of the Bomber and some vertical stabilisers.
But first I needed to get an idea as to what it might look like.......
And so I cut some wing shapes out off paper.....
And sat the model on each one to see what would suit it.
Edited by Barry Harker
The paper wings actually fly !
once they are waited with a bit of white tack
at first I went with a similar design to the Lancer Flying wing.
But this time I wanted a more swept back wing design......and oddly enough.
the swept back wing paper mock up flew three times further than the other two.
so that must be the one to go for !
I cut the the wing shape out of Styrene plastic card and started scribing in the panel lines before attaching them to the model.
And adding the rear vertical stabilisers onto the small fins either side of the engine nozzles.
All the wings are glued in place with plastic weld....or in this case melted on as that's what plastic weld does, makes for a strong join.
I now have to add some under wing support tabs to the body and start adding lots of raised surface panel detail.
this I will start tomorrow when the model is dry and the wings are strong enough to withstand the next stage.
then clean it up, primer to see how it looks and get it ready for paint.
I'll post more photos soon.
All the best,
Barry.
@ficklegreendice You ought to see this magificent advancement in wingspan technology - take a Scurrg, make it even wider. Great work, Barry!

Ha Ha thanks Deathrain.......I have a habit of straining the bases of these over sized ships !
While Im building the Scurrg Flying Wing Bomber, Im going to be Building a 2nd custom version of a G1-A
into a ALIENS Dropship inspired build.....
So I will build these to ships side by side and paint them together.
Here is the Scurrg getting some finer panel detail added......
I will also be adding some ordinance to the underside of the Bomber,
With the Scurrg having the ability to produce infinite bomb loads, looking at some of the artwork.
it looks like it delivers the bomb loads from side of the ship. But as I have added wings to this area.
The round sections on the underneath of each side of the model are now bomb bay doors.
The Model is now in Primer to see how it looks.
next stage is to do some fine surface finishing/sanding and tidy up the panels and panel lines.........
That's it for now.
I have another week to myself, so I will enjoy some time behind my desk and get on with these builds.
All the best,
Barry
You're really good.
I don't know how I'll ever get to that level...

Hello Drago.
Of course you will, it just takes time, I was the same when i started out.
you improve as you go through the years gaining experience on each and every build.
the important thing is to Enjoy it
If you ever need any Help, please free to message me.
Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
take care and all the best.
Barry.
I cannot wait to see the obscene amount of ordinance on that thing..
Plz paint, post-haste lol
I would DEFINETLY commission some custom TIE's.
A Clawcraft would be amazing.
I'm not clever enough to be able to make this sort of stuff.
Good Morning Barry,
I see om your picture the small straight edges you use to make your cuts in the fabricated pieces. Where did you find them and what was the cost.
P.S. what size styrene sheets do you use for wing fabrication?
