I love attani mindlink

And Kaa'to has to be in range 1-2 of someone.

And Kaa'to has to be in range 1-2 of someone.

Hence the pairing with Pablo. Either grab a focus from an enemy ship within range 1-2 or a friendly ship within range 1-2. You're going to get a focus on everyone, every turn. You're real limitation is only one person getting a red maneuver per turn, but that's accounted for in my squad with the 1-turns on the Kihraxz and a turret on Pablo. So the only person who really needs to pull a red maneuver is going to be Kaa'to.

Wow....Kaa-To Leeachos with Attani Mindlink is pretty good! I didn't even see it when rabid1903 posted it. I'm a bit dense, though. Wow...that's really cool. It's like Guri, but a lot cheaper. Palob is also a clever way to do it, too.

The things I like about Leechos in this situation are a) he's cheap, starting at only 16 points for the ship plus Mindlink, and b) he's very efficient at what he does. Z95s aren't going to want to do much more than take focus actions anyway, but his focus actions can give you at least two extra tokens. He's not going to live as long as Manaroo would under focused fire. But he's also only 16 points and two attack dice, so he's probably not going to be shot at anyway unless he's the only thing in arc.

Played against twin IG-88s with that; it was pretty beastly. The stress was a factor, but the amount of green on the dial made it an almost on-air.

What list did you take? How did it go?

SCUM SUCKS...

Focus out of each other xD

I am winning with the perfect mindlink list, it eats triple u-boats for breakfeast... I played against 3 different u-boat players without loosing a ship pretty much. I will post the list after the Naboo tournament :)

I have run Mangler Scyks and a Z in two regionals this year and they are a force to be reckoned with.

I ran them without Attani last year and yeah, even took out Brobots then, but just a hair too fragile then to be reliable. I think I want to retry with Attani now.

I ran a Scyk swarm with mindlink and it was hilariously awful. One took a stress from the enemy and the whole lot was falling all over the place for several turns. Mindlink has no place on jousters as you'll just get crucified by an unexpected stress and not be able to K-turn out of it.

No one has mentioned Manaroo yet? Pair Manaroo with recspec with an IG88. Manaroo moves, double focus. IG moves, evades (or target locks). Manaroo passes both to IG88, getting one in return. An IG with 2 focus and an evade each turn is **** hard to deal with. You can even combine this with Leeachaos to steal another focus from manaroo that she'll just regain, for a total of 4 focuses from Manaroo's action.

I've seen Mindlink used to give 4-LOM stress with experimental interface on another ship, that 4-LOM can then pass off to the enemy. Not sure that's necessarily better than just taking PTL on 4-LOM, but it was a cute trick.

if you have manaroo, you kinda don't need mindlink and can run more useful epts like PTL to fart out TLs to your aggressive buddy

The trouble with Manaroo is that she's a lot of points to only buff a single other ship at her own attacking expense, whereas a Mindlink squad can all be a threat at the same time.

Well, if you don't mind Manaroo being totally defenceless as a result. An IG88 with FCS doesn't need the TLs much and give Manaroo Punishing One and she can do some damage and that one focus helps. It's not amazing but then nothing with Mindlink really is.

Edit: everyone seems to think Manaroo should be purely for buffing other ships. If you aren't using Manaroo as a threat, you're using her wrong IMO. I think she's grossly underrated and I'm not sure why people don't use her more. For 2 points more than a scout, she's a bargain.

You can do the same thing with mindlink:

- Manaroo moves, gets a target lock

- ally #2 moves, focus, manaroo gets a focus

- (Other stuff here)

- Start of combat: Manaroo hands focus and target lock to an ally, gets a focus back.

It makes Manaroo kind of tanky because she can get rid of enemy target locks in the process, passing them along to another ally who might not be in arc.

can't have crackshot on the aggressor though

I'm thinking you have to fly the Scyk Hive Mind a bit differently. I haven't done it, but I'm thinking you have to fly them so they don't need K-turns so much. I'd fly them in a loose line that are spread out enough and have them approach. Hopefully, they should be able to do a 1 hard turn and still get a shot. Or....do a 1 bank (to clear stress) and BR to get a shot. If you fly them too close in formation, they will have to K-turn and then it falls apart.

Man....I haven't gotten games in. I really want to get some games in.

As for Manaroo, she could be a bumper ship. That might help her survivability without making her too expensive.

One of the lists that I've run for fun, and found out in the process that it kind of worked, was this:

Talonbane: mindlink, engine upgrade

Palob: mindlink, TLT, Dengar (crew)

Manaroo: mindlink, plasma torpedo, extra munitions, R5-P8, 4-Lom, guidance chip

The type of shenanigans that you can pull of are:

- Send Manaroo forward while gaining a target lock and gain a focus from Palob: if the enemy ignore her, fire away. If they focus on her, send enemy target locks away. The inquisitor may not enjoy firing without its target lock while knowing that the pain bot is waiting for him.

- Have manaroo feed her target lock to Talonbane: that leaves him to use his engine upgrade to get into his range 1 and stil have 2 focus and a target lock.

- Have Palob with multiple focuses: Manaroo focuses (1), Palob gains one and also does a focus (you have 2), and then transfer again from Manaroo (3 now). That leaves 2 focuses for the TLT with Dengar for rerolls and a third one for defense and that's if Palob also does not steal a token.

So yeah, lots of fun little combos ;)

I have flown my Mind over Battle List to 2nd place and 3rd place in SC and Summer events.

Here is my list: People really gets angry when they see all the focus passing and fun with Mind Link.

================
Mind Over Battle
================
99 points
Pilots
------
Manaroo (37)
JumpMaster 5000 (27), Attanni Mindlink (1), Extra Munitions (2), Plasma Torpedoes (3), K4 Security Droid (3), Unhinged Astromech (1), Guidance Chips (0)
Palob Godalhi (30)
HWK-290 (20), Attanni Mindlink (1), Blaster Turret (4), Recon Specialist (3), Cloaking Device (2)
Zuckuss (32)
G-1A Starfighter (28), Attanni Mindlink (1), 4-LOM (1), Electronic Baffle (1), Mist Hunter (0), Tractor beam (1)
It really catches people by surprise. I love this list and use it often. As long as you realize that the stress from one ship may be negated by the green maneuver of another after it. your safe.
So for instance Manaroo gets a stress everyone else does too, but Palob and Zuckuss both do greens, so when they move the stress is removed and they get a normal action anyway.

I ran something really similar a few weeks ago, it is a fun set up. The novelty of it took my opponents off guard.

I feel like all the good Attanni Mindlink squads require three copies of the card.

You can run Guri/Talonbane mindlinked without having to connect another.

They more people that use it, the better it is. I've made a list with 4.

Currently having fun with

HWK-290: · Palob Godalhi (20)

Attanni Mindlink (1)

Blaster Turret (4)

· Boba Fett (1)

· Moldy Crow (3)

G-1A Starfighter: · Zuckuss (28)

Attanni Mindlink (1)

Fire Control System (2)

· 4-LOM (1)

· Mist Hunter (0)

Tractor Beam (1)

Z-95 Headhunter: · Kaa'to Leeachos (15)

Attanni Mindlink (1)

Z-95 Headhunter: · N'dru Suhlak (17)

Attanni Mindlink (1)

Concussion Missiles (4)

Guidance Chips (0)

Having two ps 5 and two ps 7 helps when you need someone to do a red. Kaa'to being able to steal a focus from Palob when my apps possibly get blocked is very helpful.

Yeah, that's definitely the vibe I'm getting. That way if one member of the link is destroyed, the others aren't left with a dead Elite upgrade.

I just really don't feel like forking out the money for a second Jumpmaster, but I'm very intrigued with Attanni Mindlink. I think I'll try Guri with various other wingmates and see how it goes. But truth be told, I just want to try it out on Scyks because I've heard nothing but good things about it.

You have two options. The first is to just proxy it until you see if it's worth it. I kind of wish I could've done that before I bought 5 Tie Interceptors for my 5 x Alphas.

The next is to buy singles online. People love U-boats, but Attani Mindlink hasn't caught on yet. So, you can probably buy a bunch of those cards pretty cheap from the ebayers or players who want to perhaps make some money back.

I just checked ebay and I see one guy selling them for $2.50 each.

I just flew Kath and Guri with mindlink and had a ruthless freelance. It was amazing on most turns I was able to keep Guri at range one so both her and Kath had focuses and TL. If I had Kath at range one with rear arc she had a 5 dice attack with focus and TL she also had Dengar for crew.
