Quiz and chips

I'm sure this has been asked, but I cannot find the answer. Since the inquisitor's ability lets all attacks be @ range one, does the crit part of guidance chips apply? Or is it still 2 attack, per the TAP's stat line?

Guidance Chips only apply the dice modification to torpedo or missile attacks. He rolls whatever attack dice the missile he's firing has.

When using the Inquisitor's primary weapon at an actual Range of 2-3, he rolls 2 attack dice, plus one for the Range bonus of Range 1 because of his ability.

No, Inq only changes to a hit with Chips, hit ability doesn't change his primary weapon value, it just means he always gets the range one combat bonus.

Thanks!

Worth noting by the by, that secondary weapons never get the range combat bonuses to attack or defence, in case you weren't aware of that.

I am aware of that, it was just in relation to the "always three dice" part of the inquisitor's flavor that got me thinking. On a side note while the hamster is running the wheel... aux arcs: range bonuses apply for range one attacks, yes?

Assuming you're using a primary weapon, yes.

Keeping the noob train rolling out of the station as I build my sweet Krassis (which is honestly an EPT away from awesome) to prove the imp firespray is viable.... effects like fleet officer, choose two friendly ships. Is the crew's ship itself considered in that? Read the text, I know, but I'm still unsure.

Each ship is a friendly ship within range 1 of itself.

Unless an effect specifies *another* friendly ship (e.g. Systems Officer) it works on the ship carrying it.

So yes, Fleet Officer can give the ship carrying it a focus as well as another in R1 to 2, or can give focus to two other ships.
