All comers Imperial List

By 54NCH32, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Ok, after many (many) variations, this is what I'm considering taking to a regionals this weekend.

Not what I originally intended to take, but my main thought is: Bid for first. Fighter / bomber / Rhymer defence, with / Rhymer in there for taking advantage of any mid range shots. An intel ISD 1 to get in there, scare and attack quickly (if he dies, he dies, but meanwhile...) Demo-lite, still a threat, so trying to divide fear between either demo or the ISD, then a slave turreted VSD 1 towing the line, firing at long range and pushing squads. The TIE-advanced to block for the firespray and aggressor's AS fire, while all offering a black die to take advantage of Rhymer if they get the chance.

Seems pretty solid, should be fun to fly (which is my main aim), give me a degree of squadron strength etc, but I've kinda come to the realisation that taking no squads, is gonna give me a big disadvantage. And that darn Rhymer! I've no intention of trying to win / place high, but I'd like to make a dent at least.

My other variation drops ordnance off the ISD and demo to fit an ISD II in there, but I would likely still intend to throw the ISD in, so, kinda thinking I'd rather have the black rerolls. The other is this list, but maybe taking ACM on the glad (for 391pts). Because ACM is amazing.

My other idea was a mean 3 VSD list, but i wanna bring the ISD, coz its so fun! :)

I like your ISD ;)

I'm not the fan of slaved turrets, so might change them for Needa/TRC combo.

Thanks, had the thought the other day of "no holds barred, last to position > first activation ISD I" and it seemed insane/terrifying/totally mad fun, so fingers crossed.

Hmm, I had considered the Needa TRC a few lists ago,but scrapped it due to cost (My bid is set at around the 10 mark as I have no idea of meta). My thought is I tend to only get one good shot with a VSD per turn, and this way its side arc is throwing 3 red for any flanker as well. But, may look at that (NeedaTRC) again, hadn't tried to work it into this list yet

I'm running similarly equipped ISD's myself with a lot of success, so I can confirm your thoughts - it is working and it is a lot of fun.

The problem with the slaved turrets is that now your opponent doesn't need to maneuver to avoid double-arc as well as AS fire. Also adding evade on a flagship may have advantages by itself, given the number of TRC swarms around.

Slight tweak, my beloved ACM on demo and the Needa TRC squeezed in. Looks nice, gonna test against my weekly battle bud tomorrow. Boosted comms lost, but I shall just have fly my squads well.

Only objective I'm not fully on is Opening salvo, the risk of additional dice if i go against more ships. But on the flip side, its all a trap to lay 2 black at long range for me if they go for it.

Don't do Opening Salvo with your list!! It grants half-points for any damaged ship, and your ISD/VSD are likely to be damaged by the end of the game.

Advanced Gunnery or Most Wanted would be better than Opening Salvo. Minefields might not be bad for your list, your Rhymerball can fire from the minefield.

Ah dammit! I fell into the trap of forgetting about the half points for damage thing! Good shout!

Hmm, I suppose advanced gunnery might be the way to go, not sure about most wanted, as an extra die to any of those 3 I wouldn't be keen on.

Most wanted the victory, and then use the ISD to wreck anyone who gets to close to it.

It will serve as motivation for your opponent to get in firing range of the vic!

Hmm, "come and have a go, if you think you're hard enough" tactics? Could be risky with Motti aboard, but I like it!

That just makes it juicier. And more enticing.

Evil. I like it!

I would disagree on this. Motti's VSD is already enticing enough and with Most Wanted it becomes 180+ points ship. Thats a death sentence. Keep in mind that lists that outbid you are likely to be high-activation lists with either a Demo or a double MC30 in them. Both of these will easily kill a VSD from a double-tap with extra MW dices.

I would probably choose Precision Strike as an objective, given that heavy bomber lists usually don't have 10pt bid ;)
