Question about

By Pierre Campan, in WFRP Rules Questions

Hello

First excuse my poor English (I am french so ... gui%C3%B1o.gif )

I have a question about how can "old" talents can be "attached" to new carrers

let's guess you have been a scout, purchasing 3 talents in Focus and 2 in Tactic. Now you have finish the scout carrer and goes to the mighty Roadwarden carrer ... on the new carrer card you got a slot for your "old" Tactic talents ... but not for the Focus Talents ... because the Roadwarden prefere Reputation talents ....

so you spoil your 3 focus talents ... and if after you want to make priest it is even worse !!! (ok I agree it is a strange carrer path)

Of course you can attach your old talents to the groupe card ... but it sound a little bit spoiled for me .... serio.gif

Do anybody have an idea ? (could be it is in the rules and I did not see it)

Pierre

Currently, your only option is to socket them to the party (groupe) card.

It's another consideration to make when you move from one career (job) to another. Can I apply a lot of what I learned in my current career to my new career? A bit like life really....

I would assume that some more advanced careers will have more sockets and therefore more flexibility in future supplements.

hum ... in real live may be, but changing carrer you do not lose your Strenght nor your Willpower ... neither your action cards gui%C3%B1o.gif

I am pretty sur it is a border effect the conceptor did not thought about

me I think I will use as a solution that you can attach an "old" talent on whatever sockets you have already.

(like the madness card for the zelot)

I have the feeling that the system is flexible enought and that we will have a good solution soon !!!

yes, or a special card that give one free socket by carrer you have achived.

by the way the game is splendid, I love the adaptation to Warhammer I play since ........ the begining .... (I am 46 year's old gamer )

I hope it will be soon trnaslated in french, no for me but for all the noenglish's reader in France ! (we are lazy guys you know ! gui%C3%B1o.gif well not so lazy but the french translation are very good)

a little UP

nobody "official" have an idea about the good way to do ?
(sorry for the unofficial, I apology)

thank in advance !

Pierre

From the rules (an official source) it is clear that talents you purchased for a previous career are useless if you no longer have the slot to fit them to. Unfortunately this forum is not for "official" feedback, it is apparently for other players to try to help - if you need an official answer to a question I was instructed to scroll to the bottom of the page where it says:

Thank you for your help and again excuse me for a request of "official" feedback ! I do not want to be rude or unpolite to the people in this forum, I want to rise up this question to the "official" because of a vain hope to have a solution official in futur (as we can see in the FAQ)...

by the way it is true the when you choose a basic carrer and want to make another one, you have to take care at this compatibility aspect ! otherwise you spoil your old talents ! this sound logic, but why this only for the talent, why not the action card serio.gif , that's what sound very unlogic to me !

bye

Pierre

Just passing on to you what I was told when I asked for official comments to questions - I was told for official response use the link at the bottom.
