Oh god... I LEARNED
I'm more impressed that you won with a pair of PS10 ships and no Engine Upgrades to cover for positioning errors. You only have the native barrel roll on the E-Wing, so there was little margin for error in the dials phase.

And I can tell you firsthand that, when playing Corran, Dan makes no errors in the planning phase! For example: I almost had Corran in our final game. A surprise K-turn onto a debris field next to Captain Yorr let off a procket shot that rendered Corran shieldless. All I had to do is get Vader in between Biggs and Corran and Corran dies, but Dan had none of that, effectively corralling Vader and stopping my dastardly plan.

You were amazing. Simply put, a phenomenal player. I had a little luck in the first engagement against you and it turned out to be enough.

Just have to play passively and cover large arcs, but I do dream of having engine on those guys.
I've seen a local player do similar things with Wedge/Poe/Janson - it gives away against the torpedo boats (I've been trying to persuade him to experiment with Biggs for that reason) but three PS10 pilots (Veteran Instincts & Adaptability) means it does unspeakable things to PS8-9 aces who think they're untouchable with barrel rolls and boosts.
I'm glad to hear Biggs did his thing. Janson with R3-A2 seems like an incredibly useful weapon against both aces and contracted scouts - I'm surprised we don't see him more.
R4-D6 does only cancel hits, not crits, but getting 3 hits from a torpedo is not unlikely. Remember the bloody droid only costs 1 point. If you use him, at all, during a game, he's made his points back. His job is to stop 1 point of damage and to allow you to equip Integrated Astromech. If he can do both of those, he's done the equivalent job of Chewbacca (a 6-point crew card).
If Biggs can force an opponent to put a third torpedo into him to kill him, he's done his job magnificently.

Come to think of it, I made the same mistake in my second game against Aceguard- I should have just gone for his palp mobile from the beginning rather than chasing after Vader. Ah well, I'm not disappointed. I showed up to have fun and play a bunch of X-Wing- making the top 8 was just a sweet bonus.

Interesting list! I used the TIE fighter all-stars for a long time, and I find myself wanting to try a TIE/fo All-stars. Good to see 5 TIE fighters are still enough to give people a decent match....
I'm interesting in the decision to use R3-2A on Wes rather than BB-8. I can see that it's rather good against anything with PTL but other than that I would have thought that the benefit of BB-8 would be greater.

R3A2 at PS10 is really nasty against Whisper as well.

As well as Valen Rudor, who is gaining in popularity.
Ah yes, Whisper wouldn't be happy at all. R3-A2 has greater benefit than I first thought.
My impression was that Wes's purpose in Dhars's list is to shut down other threats, via token denial and/or stress. In his game against me he only used R3-A2 once, to drop a 2nd stress on Zeta Leader and prevent me from getting the extra attack die for a few turns. However he used Wes's ability a bunch against Omega Leader, stripping and evade token or target lock whenever he could.

In the current version I realized I wanted every ship to be able to fire with 3 attack dice (or 4 at range 1) or the rough equivalent thereof, because I knew I needed to be able to drop a Scout in one round of fire. So I redesigned it to its current form and practiced a few openings and maneuvers with it, but never actually faced an opponent with it until the tournament. I still wonder if I could have done even better with it if I had had some practice with the list under my belt first.
Edited by HerowannabeSo I had to comment on this post. I ran the Z swarm that has been very successful for me. The Biggs, Corran, Wes, was a very difficult list for me. I made plenty of mistakes, but the guy who flew it was a very good pilot, and that made all the difference.
It was my first Regionals and it was great to go up against such great players. I happened to fly against the Biggs group twice. First when both of us were undefeated in the last game of Swiss, then again in the top four. I lost twice. But the Z swarm will live on...
Thanks for a fun event!

Thanks! It was quite fun to fly. Originally the idea behind it was just to cram as many pocket aces into one list as possible. It's first version was a little different, with Epsilon Ace and Backstabber in instead of Scourge and Mauler. I only flew that iteration of it once and actually lost with it.Omega Leader, Juke, Comm relay,

Yeah I was definitely worried about the firepower you had. I had to be very careful with my target priority
Don't know the list exactly but it appears that it is what took the Utah regional.
Didn't get the chance to make this one so I'll let someone that was there fill in the details.
Biggs with R4-D6 essentially forces the U-Boat player to hit with 3 torps to kill him. The Droid can't stress cancel crits though. So he's going to be around for 2-3 rounds guaranteed to cover Corran and Wes.
Corran auto-dies to torp boats, but not with Biggs.
Once you close to range 1 they're probably not in a position where their white sloops can clear you/clear nearby asteroids.
It's a good list that has uses against other meta lists too. Wes should be good against Palp Aces especially with the stress bot, and VI Corran is nice against Acewings, since you can boost last against them.
Rebel players have competitive lists, they just have to think beyond fat turrets, Poe, and Miranda for once.
Edited by ParaGoomba SlayerI believe the OP is mistaken.
X-wings are no good and Es are overpriced.
It is known.
Horn isn't overpriced, and Wes is only useful against Uboats
Sarcasm is inappropriate.
That lets Corran take on UBoats really well, especially since the alpha strike kills NO ships. Biggs takes 4 max and lives and Wes stripped a token
Only if he doesn't get crit. -- Edit: already been mentioned, nevermind
Anyway, fun list. I thought the Wes + Biggs combo would be good against UBoats, I just didn't think of putting Corran in there as the heavy hitter
Edited by Glucose98Good to hear of some one having some succes with Rebels
Are there any videos of your games Dhars?? Would love to see how you used the list.
Paul
The center piece was actually the combo of Wes and Biggs because Biggs can survive an entire volley of plasma torpedoes if Wes strips the tokens so they can't be fired. It is also extremely useful against aces for follow up shots.
Nice job, sir! That's a nice list!

Maybe they will video the games at the billings regional this Saturday? There were no videos in Utah.
