And 2 of those are his shields and if the last one is a bad crit be can integrated astromech it away.
Biggs Corran and Wes win Utah
That lets Corran take on UBoats really well, especially since the alpha strike kills NO ships. Biggs takes 4 max and lives and Wes stripped a token
Assuming all 3 uboats have a shot at biggs, even if Wes strips one of a focus, couldn't the other two still kill them if they both get 4/4 hits with at least one crit in there?
Yes. Worse yet, a plasma torpedo could actually one shot Biggs if it's 3 crits and a hit and I blank on my evades. Fortunately it is statically unlikely enough for me to take a calculated risk.
So Dhars you flew it?

Yes, I flew the list in Utah, yesterday.

Yeah but I still fly a primitive Opprotunist list, that likely wouldn't hold up ata tournament. Still it's been very successful.
I will say that the Utah region seems to be very anti-meta, which I loved. I attended the event and there were very, very few Uboats. Palp Aces were still moderately prominent, but not so much so that you could say they were dominant.
I played-
2 Palp Aces variants (1 mod win and 1 loss)
-a list with Cpt. Jonus, Inquisitor and Valen Rudor (win)
-3 PS 10 X-wings- Poe, Wedge, Wes (Win)
- Dengar and Bossk (win)
-Chewie with 2 TLT Golds (Loss)
Was an awesome event, and I can say it was made much better by the players willing to take what they enjoyed and reducing the monotony of facing the same archetype over and over and over.
Good to hear, and inspires me to dust of my T-65s. I reckon they're a bit better than we all think.

They've always had the best pilot abilities that can find their way into lists. Biggs, Wes, Wedge, Tarn, etc.
There will never be a meta where you can't find a use for Biggs, I think.

I have yet to get to play with the SLC guys but I have dropped into the store that was at the regional. Good group of guys there and just a few weeks ago I dropped by when they had a tourney for practice for the regional. Don't recall a single triple U Boat list in attendance. They do seem to play what they like which makes for a fun group of guys to play with I bet.
I'm from Utah! Yes, the meta is quite weird over here. It must be us Mormons
...
Good job man!
Edited by Ecthelion IIINice job, Dan. It's interesting, on paper that squad looks amazing, like I'm really surprised I haven't seen it before. It has such strong counters to all the big monsters out there.
Strong against a lot of the currently-in-vogue meta lists, yes, but VERY weak against a number of others.
For example, it'd crumble pretty easily against a crackswarm (either A-Wing or TIEs). And an 'ace' list that prefers to use actions to re-position, and relies on something like Predator or Lone Wolf for improving attack accuracy...not going to have much of a problem, here, either. Quite vicious against the current meta favorites, though, so...seems like a list that is going to rely a LOT on getting the 'right' matchups, and managing to avoid the 'wrong' ones.

Yeah, their were some great builds that were out of the ordinary.
I left after round 6 for family stuff at 4-2 (i would have made 16th place, I was told) with my bomb list consisting K-Wing with Sabine and Proton Bombs and 2 Golds with Thermal/Seismic. It got the drop on some good lists, and got lucky as people just never see bombs and forget I was using them! It was fun to see a 'non-competitive' list like bombs do pretty well!
I don't think this is entirely true, I did go up against 6 tie fighters and 6 ordnance Tala, and essentially I rely on picking one of the opposing ships off the first turn with my 3 attacks so biggs has a chance to survive the first round or waste all of the crackshots to give the other two a better chance. With a little bit of luck, the three can kill two tie fighters or head hunters in the first exchange.

Agree with dhars. Vs a crack swarm killing 1 in the first turn of engagement shouldn't be too tough and if you can kill 2-3 (or even have them blow their CS) before Biggs dies I'd like Regen Corran w/ Wes vs 3 A-Wings. Now quad TLTs might be tougher it'd be a question if you could kill 2 before Biggs dies. But quad TLT isn't seen much anymore.
Excellent to see Rebels doing well. I just flew the same biggs but with POE + VI, BB-8, AT Poe & Red Ace + R2-D2, CR, AT at Yavin in the UK. It was lot of fun and highly effective against certain lists. I made a couple of critical errors in 2 games resulting in mid table obscurity.
I was very happy facing Jumpmasters. Biggs could soak up a couple of torps and probably live. Poe was meant to dish out the damage and survive a bit but couldn't roll red dice all weekend (11 dice with 1 hit at one stage). Red Ace was then fairly unkillable for whatever was left.
I had a few games where something was chasing Poe trying to finish him off with Red Ace chasing the something trying to finish that off.
This was the first time I'd used BB-8 for an period of time. I think it's my new favourite card.
Not good. The better Corran, the weaker the fix for E-wings

Aces using actions to reposition against 2 PS10 ships would be interesting to see. You'd need some very strong predictive powers, and you would have to be right just about the whole time, because Corran will smoke you otherwise.
He went undefeated all day. The championship match was against Yorr/prockets vader/inquisitor.
So my 2 favorite ships that everyone says are unplayable won in competitive. Well done sir.
Nobody said they were unplayable. They are suboptimal.
Edit: messed up quoting

Since R4-D6 only cancels hits and not crits, saying Biggs will take a max of 2 damage per shot is wrong..

I was there as well, and got smoked by Dhars during the Swiss rounds- my only loss during Swiss. It was more than just a good list, Dhars flew it masterfully! Nobody could touch him all day.
The tournament was a blast- a TON of variety, which was awesome. Every list in the top 8 was not only a different list, but a completely different archetype.
Congrats to Dhars on your well-deserved victory!
Thank you! Which list did you run?
