Inquisitorial Hunting Party

By Ghost XV15, in X-Wing Squad Lists

The idea was to build a flavourfull Mini-Swarm consisting of TIE-Interceptors (because they are cool).
The Inquisitor was added for flavour and my bro purchased one of the TIE Adv. Prototypes but never fielded spaced it, so I came up with an idea.

Inquisitor: (27)
TIE Adv. Prototype (25)
TIE V/1 (1)
XX-23 S-Thread Tracers (1)

4*Alpha Squadron Pilot: (72)
TIE Interceptor (18)

Total: 99

For that you get 15 Attack dice and 16 Hitpoints, with the doomhammer (if you encounter the Jedi), of 12 rerollable hits, 16 if you are at range one, this should guarantee a kill against most ships, if you hit with the Thread Tracers.
You could also slap Extra Munitions on the Inquisitor to make sure that you don't loose the tracers on a miss, but I like to stay under the 100 mark for initiative

It might not be the most competative list, it was made for flavourfull, casual fun and I think it should rock that, I'll probably fly against it on friday.

I'd appreciate any thoughts on this list.

I like it. Decided to see what I could come up with from my collection. This version is based around just Imp Aces + Interceptor + TIE advance prototype. You need to add a StarViper for autothrusters and a normal TIE advanced for Squad leader but you could easily do without that last card. Did anyone ever actually buy the StarViper for the ship and not the autothruster cards?

Tanks for the comment, glad that you like it.

Yours is definetly a more Elite version of this squad and probably more of my friends liking, he loves those Upgrade Cards.
I personally play mostly naked ships and I wanted to squeeze 4 Interceptors in :D

The friend for whom I wrote the list actually bought the Star Viper just because he liked the model.
Since we play casually and are long time Tabletop players it is normal for us to buy stuff that is not that usefull.
He also got the Advanced, so he could totally rock your version.

I've not had a chance to try that list yet but I will. So many list ideas so little time to play!

I only had 3 interceptors so couldn't do the 4. :)

I've started to repaint my StarViper and it will probably drag me into playing Rebels even if I don't actually use it much. Well played FFG.

I love the idea of Interceptor Swarm. Let us know how it goes!

I know the time problem all too well...

He'll plan to use the Assault Carrier to carry 4 Interceptors, so he bought a 4th one

Isn't the Star Viper S&V?

Definetly will, I hope he'll field this list tomorrow, if not I will

Yeah, I always type Rebels when I mean S&V. It's because I identify so much with Imperial that for me it's Imperial and not Imperial rather than Imperial, Rebel and S&V!!!!

Unfortunately he decided to not field this list, it is too ''boring and spammy''
Oh well, I will have to test it in some other way, maybe by switching the teams for one match

Someone thinks generic interceptors are boring and spammy?

Who doesn't think squints are fun?

Quoting my own post! That's probably wrong on many levels. However....

Finally got to fly this last night and it was a great deal of fun. I wasn't facing a 'tournament' list, the guy used what I've decided to call "Rebel Full House X's over Z's". It was three X-wings and two Z-95's which as you can guess means he had a lot of low(ish) PS generic ships with little to no upgrades. It did have a ton of fire arcs and shots and shields which was probably a good match against me as keeping out of arc was a nightmare at times.

Initial thoughts were that the thread tracers were evaded which cost me not only my first Inquisitor shot but made my alpha strike very ineffective with no free target locks for the squints. Still unsure if they are worth it or not.

After the first shots were fired I had to break formation which made 'Squad Leader' on the Royal guard pretty useless. So minor changes can be considered.

Yeah I figured that the Tracers work best against big slow ships that tend to be point sinks, like the Decimator or the Falcon.

But as long as you guys had fun, everythings allright
