There's no way a bunch of TIEs beat the unbeatable HWK list, it's impossible!

I watched the live stream, and they guy who did the Crack Swarm flying is an AMAZING pilot. Understand they played like 8 rounds on Friday, 8 rounds on saturday, and then the final tourney on sunday, this guy played 20+ rounds of Xwing over three days and still kept SEVEN ships in precise formation! IT was some **** mad skilz. He deserved the win.

Yup. He was brilliant. Also seemed a really top bloke too.

I hate when people see any list played at that level and assume the list is that good. Swarm is the exact same as it was before this master. He could have played the magic HWK list and probably still wrecked face with it. Much respect for the endurance alone though, so many rounds so many ships just gives me a headache thinking about it.

In the case of the cute lovable SCUM HWK it is good be design, but yeah in general this ship profits from what you arm it with. FFG has said they made a stupid mistake giving it the useless dial and one attack. But they have made enough good things the little rascal can add that it has become a decent ship for REBs and a good ship for SCUM.

While he played in the regional on the Friday he didn't actually fly the swarm then. Saturday was 6 games and Sunday was 6 too. However he is an awesome swarm flyer and the pattiswarm is a decent list of flown properly.

I for one welcome our new lord and master.

Speaking as someone who's not an Imperial player, I love how the TIE Swarm manages to consistently stay one of the best lists in the game.

It's just as good as it's always been. And I mean pretty much always. Even in Fat Han and Phantom days they were still rolling 7-8 ships and just throwing crazy dice. The endurance to do so is really all that keeps it down. I'd venture to say it's just as, if not harder to pilot than Imperial Aces. The Empire requires skills for success, not shields, regen, turrets, or HP.

So what was the list that won yavin exactly?

5 blacks with crackshot, obsidian, and an Academy?
