'fire and move during squadron phase' special rule

By Draygon, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Hi Everyone,

Had a game last night and used Han Solo. He has a special ability that says he can 'move and attack during the squadron phase'. My question is, does this follow the same rules as ships, i.e. does he have to attack and then move? Or can he move and then attack?

Thanks!

Do you mean the "rogue" keyword? Or Han's unique?

Either way, I believe the order is swappable (move/attack or attack/move)

The idea is that you can do both, while normal squads can only do one without being activated by a ship during the ship phase.

I believe that boba fett's unique is order dependent though.

FAQ, Page 4, Squadrons:

Q: Can a squadron with rogue move and attack in either order when it activates during the Squadron Phase?

A: Yes.

I believe that boba fett's unique is order dependent though.

No, it is not.

It is triggered "When you activate".

RRG, page 12, Squadron Activation

Squadrons are activated during the Squadron Phase. Squadrons can also be activated during the Ship Phase when a ship resolves a :SQUADRON: command.

So whenever he activates - wether its by an Order in teh Ship Phase, or just because in the Squadron Phase, he deals 1 damage... Note that this is "when" he activates, not "while" he activates... There is a difference. The difference is, with "when", the ship or squadron he pelts for 1 damage, must be at Range 1 BEFORE HE MOVES OR ATTACKS.

If it was "While", he could do it at either the start or the finish of his move, before or after attacking...

'tis tricky, but there you go.
