Errata for the Errata?

By The Asgardian, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

The only possible error I see is the example given for Page 2: Actions: Default Challenge Level.

Casting a spell or Invoking a Blessing is default of Simple (0d) Challenge Die.

In the example, the casting of the Spell, Great Fires of U'Zhul, The listed final difficulty added to the die pool is 2 Challenge Dice and 1 Black Die.

Where did the 2nd Challenge Die come from in the listed example is Casting a Spell is default of Simple (0d) Challenge Die?

Heh. I will assume that perhaps our Wizard had perhaps gained power in the same turn which would add the 2nd Challenge Die :)

It's an attack (vs defence) so the base diff is 1d plus the black die for the targets defence then add 1d for the modifier in the top left of the card.

If it was just spellcraft check then it would be 0d base.

Yes. Just before the spell example they indicate that anything that says "vs. Target's Defence" uses the default combat difficulty of Easy (1d); and the spell itself adds another purple and a black.

I was confused about that too. They should have included magic spells that are versus Target's Defense in the bit about melee and ranged attacks for completeness.

The spell itself adds just a purple, the black comes from the defence of the target.
