It should be the following:
When I herd this happy news.....
Nice, lots of dull coding to do today so I can have the stream open and root for the HWKs!
It's live now... against 3 scouts.
It's live now... against 3 scouts.
And he is set up to joust them :/ I hope there is a plan and its not just a "Oh well, my list has met the one list it can't beat, lets get over with this quickly".
And it's pretty much over already. No-body like a U-Boat list...

There is some hope. There are almost no more torps and the Scouts are forced to create some distance next turn, enhancing the TLTs effect. its grim and unlikely, but I wouldn't give up, yet.

No choice, really. The Spice Runners are PS1, so they set up first. And he pretty much has to keep all ships close together for his synergy to work.
Aaaaaand I am wrong and Palob has one hull. Bummer.

He could (should) have chosen to not fly at them out of this position. The large bases have to be more carefull manouvering "non straight" and the TLTs don't care where you are facing.
The matchup is terrible and I am not sure if this could have changed anything, but maybe there would have been a better chance.
Not exactly a thrilling game to watch.
Personally, I prefer games running all over the mat with nice flying around the asteroids and more suspense ![]()

the hwk player walking into that alpha strike. the hwks r slow so its hard to get them into range1-2 quickly. in hindsight i wonder if he could have used the asteroids to aid his approach. nomatter what i guess he was going to lose a hwk in the first exchange. a hard match for the hwk player.
Edited by The_Brown_BomberI wonder who had initiative?
If I lost initiative (which is what I'd probably want in that match-up), I'd have put my two 1's at either end of my deployment area facing each other. Then, wait to see how the Scouts deployed, and stack the remaining Hawks with whichever Spicer was furthest from the Scouts.
The solo Hawk would then red-line it back the others whilst they move into whatever the best attack posture is for that list and hopefully the Scouts have to contend with obstacles while trying to either get an easy kill on the solo or set up their own attack run on the main body of the Hawk squad.
If the opponent choose to ignore the solo, then it could play a harassing role and hopefully coax one Scout out of formation, keeping it out of the main fight for as long at possible.

the scout player had initiative. the asteroid placement was L shaped and helped neither player. i think the hwk player should have made a centre cluster and used these in his approach. it is suicide to run right into an aplha strike from 3 scouts.

I dont think I can imagine a more boring match to watch.
Interesting that there is no "Adaptability" on Palob for 0 points
Anyone have a guess why? (except he doesn´t have the card)
Edited by IG88EWhat a great thread. I think I have almost reached my "Like Limit" for the day on this one thread! Go Stretchy!!!!

Probably didn't think of it. Won't matter much except for IGs who aren't that popular from what I have seen.
4 HWKS huh?

How did he go on in the 8th game?
Based off the scores i just saw on the twitch stream it looks like he went 0-3 today. Round 9 was being played and he still only had 30pnts. Not a bad showing for 4HWKs, but it's just not resilient enough to wade through the meta when you are playing really good people.
