What argument would that be? I'm in favour of the N-1, I'm just against these quote-chains making me scroll three miles between comments!
Now don't you look silly? ![]()

Ah, sorry. I thought you were someone who was acting like "HURR DURR THAT'S NOT VALID" or something. My apologies - though maybe you could have worded it a bit better, like "Please remove the comic itself" or something to prevent it hogging space. ![]()
Nah, the "That's not valid!" are the guys who can't accept different things in Star Wars.
I know open mindedness isn't the hallmark of forums such as this but...please don't attack me here but...why don't you just buy a cheap micromachines N1 like I did, repaint it and field it as a similar ship that already exists. I have used the rules for Valen Rudor with the the title (with permission from my casual opponent of course). I do realise he has no astromech and is Imperial, but hey, nothing's perfect.

Because, wether gamers like it or not, there is a distinct difference between "Doing it because its awesome in a casual game", and "having something I can use in a competitive setting..."
The only way it is satisfied for both parties is to have it officially in the game.
Honestly, I mean, I don't even play X-Wing... But its a common hallmark in just about any game to have these discussions.

well, more importantly, it's just a way to introduce even more for a game people seem to immensely enjoy
going by the ARC having only named pilots (yes, one event is not a pattern...but it is an excuse
), the N-1 would be a great excuse to introduce more unique and game-changing pilot abilities into X-wing Miniatures
it would also be a fairly interesting upgrade platform, being an astro + torp ship that might actually get use out of both slots if priced appropriate
given the N-1's status as a dinky little thing, you can make the base stat-line VERY underwhelming (think A-wing with b-roll instead of boost) and then make it cheap enough to splurge on a few upgrades
the combination of PTL with either r2 astro or bb-8 (and the fact that you don't have the option for Integrated Astro or Autothrusters taking up your mod slots), can make for some interesting builds, including fairly priced ordnance platforms that the rebels don't have yet outside the homing missile Z-95
finally, it's a great excuse to get some more names into the game including
Sosha Soruna - a naboo queen who can actually pilot a starfighter
also winner of the "best ****-eating grin award"

Shara Bey - only this time with a pilot ability that doesn't utterly suck
and, most of all, Leia Organa (currently tragically relegated to an obscure crew; eclipsed by freaking c3po of all people!)
the n-1 is just a good opportunity all around to add more interesting features to the game. This doesn't make it necessarily superior to everything that could possibly be added; it's just definitely worth a look
Also, since the N-1s in Shattered Empire had to fly without astromechs since they didn't have any in the hanger and were too short on time to wait for them to be brought in from elsewhere on the planet, there could be a title card (Plugged Astromech Port?) that allows them to remove the astro slot in exchange for lower cost.
Also, Shara Bey needs to be higher pilot skill in the N-1 than in the ARC-170. In canon she's too good for PS6. And with an A-wing being her standard fighter, it makes perfect sense that she'd do worse in a big lumbering heavy fighter like the ARC than in a lightweight like the N-1. (Likewise, Norra Wexley, a Y-wing ace, being better than Shara in the ARC also makes sense because a big lumbering heavy fighter is exactly her style.)
Edited by Red XIVBut they have something sticking out of the astromech slot.
Yeah, but didn't they specifically mention not having droids to put in them? My guess would be it was some sort of plug to override any safety measures that don't allow the the fighter to take off without a droid.

Pretty hard to say "no" when we all know the correct answer is "yes".

Yes no is the correct answer.
"Seriously the h*!" is the correct answer!
The answer is...

How is this on 11 pages? How hard is it to say, "no."
New.
Now.
Necktie.
Urgh...it's definitely an "N" word.
Nickto!
That's wrong, too.
I guess I'll go with "yes." Less bother that way.
Ooooo a Belgian N1, lmao
I'll stick with this Belgian version of "Non" ![]()

Shara Bey's ability is actually pretty promising - especially with, say, Z-95s that are packing Homing Missiles (and who aren't spending their locks, remember?). The cheaper platform would make it proportionately better, in fact; leaving more space in the list for cool upgrades elsewhere. Cheap enough base hull and you could fly her with Blount, giving you multiple target lock targets, and dramatically increasing the headaches all round.
And PS6 is hardly rubbish; IG-88 is not a poor pilot at PS6, and nor is a Royal Guard interceptor. I think people get a little PS-inflation-happy at times, especially on a support ship like this.
Having Leia in the game as a pocket ace would be a lovely little thing, too: Right now the only pocket aces Rebels have anything close to is Jake, and he's great fun to be sure, but his abilities get pretty pricey real quick. Perhaps something Juke-friendly, to avoid the otherwise-inevitable PTL? I'm not full of ideas, but it could be fun... oh, hey:

Edited by ReiverPS6 is not rubbish, but canon indicates that Shara was an incredible pilot, not just a good one. I mean, she became a triple ace over the course of a single battle according to "Before the Awakening", and in "Shattered Empire" she held off an entire Star Destroyer's worth of TIEs in an antique N-1 while Princess Leia and Queen Soruna were busy shooting down the Imperial satellites.
How is this on 11 pages? How hard is it to say, "no."
Because the correct (and vastly overwhelming) answer is "yes", maybe?

PS 6 is sentient murder-bot territory, which I'd say is pretty **** spiffy
the problem with PS is that people try to read into a numerical gameplay value something that is utterly unquantifiable (re: how "good" a pilot is at flying their craft)
also that we sees so many **** PS 8/9s that 6 just seems naff by comparison
this would not be such an issue if FFG would give mid-PS pilots some **** decent pilot abilities, but as ARC Shara demonstrates, they still havn't figured out the pattern (higher PS + more useful ability = will always be taken over the lower PS more situational ability)
if she comes in the n-1, it better be with a different pilot ability ![]()

Is that when a star Destroyer's worth of TIEs is just over seventy? Seriously the h*, what's that about?
