T-65 fix?

I'll be flying the gunboat in the custom card league in no time. Done waiting for FFG to crank one out and we're doing it ourselves.

So yeah JBR7 and I had that talk and i think generally, at it's very core we agree, Everyone needs to bloody chill. Let's not be hatin' on FFG for not releasing the Gunboat (not that many were) and let's not be dissing people who want their favourite cool ships, Like the Gunboat, Avenger, DX-9, Kimogilla(it's coming Joe!) etc.

If Disney is still ok with ffg making ships from the eu I think we will get it when the time is right..... I can wait for that time... Then I will buy 10 of them ..... Then we start a tie avenger thread !!!!

I've been thinking about this, and I find it hard to believe that Disney wouldn't allow FFG to produce the Gunboat. In a few weeks, we'll be getting a serious update to an old EU ships that is from the same obscure game as the gunboat -- and that ship is going to be powerful! How could / why would FFG make the TIE Defender such a powerful force to be reckoned with if Disney is so against the old EU? I just don't see Gunboats NOT happening. Sure, it may take a while, but I think we'll see them before this game is through.

I'm not a gunboat cultist. I just have fond memories of both flying and shooting down those beautiful ships in the X-wing series of video games. And now I want it in this game so badly!!!!

The space I've allocated for Imperials can't handle any more large ships. 4 Shuttles, 3 Firesprays, and 2 Decimators are enough for me. Oh, and 4 Punishers is all the "missile boat" anyone ever needs. My Space Whales are all the "gunboats" I will ever need. I mean, what's the XG-1 really gonna give me in terms of capability? Two Cannon Slots?!

And so would be different from the punisher, it also would have only 1Attack die, so would rely on missiles. But would be much more agile, even before the Slamming it could do.

Gunboat capability, well a cannon slot, decent hull and shields- totalling about Y-wing health, and then 2 missile or torp slots (as in 2 total between the two). It would sort of be like a Imperial version of the Ywing, since it isnt very maneuverable, and would also not be able to do any turret/360 abilities...and it would not get crew nor astromechs. So something quite different from what the Imps have now.

Oh and the Gunboat and Missileboat are both starfighter vessels the size of an Xwing or slightly larger...so would be SMALLS!

They sure aren't trying to give every faction an option to fill some sort of 'role'

The decision usually comes down to what adds more to the game without making a wave too complicated to test. Nothing has to fill any specific roles from what I can tell but if there is a big chunk of open design space or a missing "role" there is a good chance it will be something that adds a lot to the game. IE the Khiraxz filled the X-wing space for scum but imperials rather than mirroring the x-wing have filled the spaces just below it and above it on the power curve. One of the big reasons the Gunboat has to be low priority is the design space it fits in is fairly small. What it can do it not going to bring a ton to the game without some more intensive testing. I do not have much doubt it will show up though. It would be easy to bring it to the Star Wars LCG, rebels and rogue one and it would fit them all fairly well. It isn't a Tie but the empire can have more than just ties, sd and stormtroopers.

From what I have seen, this nonsense of a Gunboat is nothing more than a poorly conceived attempt to see if a few can sway the game designers. The reason for my belief is this... Totally random questions are being inserted with Gunboat bs... Someone asks about Auto-Thrusters and in no time at all there appears a comment.... Well if we had a Gunboat... Really.. I get it if someone has a passion for something, but keep it in its thread. A lot of newer players have legitimate questions and don't need to be confused with something that is totally off topic... You know like a Gunboat.

You do realize, don't you, that the bigger the fuss you make about disliking the craft, the more some people will make sure to mention it just to spite you? Not that I approve of such behavior, of course, but I've been on enough forums to recognize where this leads.
